Resurrecting an old thread to say thanks!
I got the Canon S95 and took it on our CA/DL trip in April/May. Didn't have time to read up too much but it was overall pretty easy to figure out the basics considering it's my first digital camera. I didn't realize until less than a week before our trip that I needed a memory card. Thankfully a friend told me which one to get on Amazon and it came right before we left.
Haven't shared any photos online or printed any but we've watched them on our computer and my sis took them to work to share on her computer. Very, very happy with the shots.
The auto focus worked great but I had to turn if off for the Monterey Bay Aquarium since it wanted to use flash in the darker seahorse exhibit room and the flash reflected off the glass. That was the only issue with that and the bellman at our hotel showed me how to turn the auto focus on and off.
Did great on outdoor shots and inside the aquarium too. The jellies exhibit was indoors and subdued lighting (like the seahorse exhibit) but I got great shots of the jellies w/o the flash going off. Really nice shots! Great color.
Oh, and very compact. Nice to have a small, lightweight camera. More compact than my older film cameras - and I got the smaller, compact ones.
So I know I don't have any downloaded to share the quality but just wanted to say I'm very happy with the camera and thank you to all who answered my questions!
