I just recently discovered there is a kids play area at Mission Space in Epcot that I apparently have walked right by before and didn't realize. This got me wondering what are the best play area, play grounds on Disney property. My 4yo loves playgrounds right now so was thinking we might plan a visit or two to other resorts to let him play a little while we take in the sites and relax a little.

Just to be sure, I have to mention the obvious: The Boneyard at Animal Kingdom.

Several people have commented they enjoy POR playground. It is right near the campfire sing-a-long and some people have said their children were more interested in the playground then the campfire.

My 5 yr old loves them all. Any running around with other kids makes him happy :goodvibes. On our last trip we found the one at AKL Jambo by the pool. That was a nice one.

One of the few reasons we go to Hollywood Studios is for the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area, my daughter loves it.

The Coronado has a really great playground area for the kids. Here are a couple of pictures from the "unofficial" site that I maintain:

Oh the Coronado one looks fun!

AKL Kidani village had a small playground that was part of the pool area that was kinda neat. It has like a splash park and a baby pool and a little climbing area and some slides and water guns. My kids liked it but I went down one tube slide and since I was already wet I went very fast and I slide out airborne and landed hard on my butt. It hurt!

Very cute toddler and baby playground in the middle of Mickey's Toontown. It is enclosed and soft. My toddlers loved it! Played around in there for 15 minutes or so.

Maybe not a traditional playground, but the best place for a kid to let off steam & run around is Tom Sawyer's Island in the MK!

Yes and there is also an actual small playground on the Island.:)

We also loved the Boneyard at AK, and the Honey I Shrunk The Kids area in DHS was our second favorite. I wish Polynesian or Contemporary had playgrounds like at CSR! That looks fantastic.

Thanks for the info most I knew about but will probably check out a couple at the resorts, maybe go to POR then ride the boat to DTD. What is the campfire sing along at POR? I was aware of the Chip and Dale one at the campground, we did that last time and it was one of the best extra (and free at that) things we did at WDW we had a great time.

When our son was 3yr old and we stayed at AKL, he loved the playground (he loved walking around the grounds to see the different animals and then go to the playground)
