My good friend is going with her inlaws to cocoa beach Easter week. Her inlaws are footing the bill and planning the whole trip. They insisted on taking them to MK for one day. My friend tried to talk them out of it, but it's a moot point since they really want to take her kids, 3 and 5. Anyway, they've never been and I was telling her all about what parking, then getting from TTC to MK, getting one day tickets, and of course park touring ideas.

Was wondering if any of you could provide a good plan for them as to when to get to MK on a 9am opening day, any parking strategies, etc. Thanks! We've always stayed n property and used the resort busses, so I'm not sure how accurate I could be in helping her.

The week of Easter with be VERY VERY busy. They need to be there as soon as the park opens. Because historically during the week of Easter MK fills to capacity as early as 10:00 a.m. and then they will not allow people who are not staying at a Disney resort into the park and they will be turned away. So it is important to get there early.

You can download the My Disney Experience app and it will list the wait time for the rides and give you an idea the day before just how busy the park will be the next day. I remember seeing a wait time last Easter for soarin which is at Epcot and the wait time was 5 hours. Yes 5 hour wait. I would leave home no later than 7:15 a.m. Its an hour drive and then to park, ride the tram to the monorail to MK, then go through bag check will take some time.
