Best plan for late arrival at AK?

My family and I are planning on visiting AK in the last week of December. However, we're arriving to All Star Movies that morning. We plan on checking in early, leaving our bags at the bell service place, then going to AK. (And I guess a couple of us would have to go back and put our stuff in when our room is ready). So we'll be at AK either by late morning or noon-ish.

My plan so far is:
-Lunch
-Lion King
-Safari (FP)
(and hopefully by now it'll be 4ish)
-tough to be a bug (if no time, skip)
-Exp Everest (FP)
-Nemo
-Dinosaur (FP)
-Dinner or dinner before dinosaur, whichever one works

Is this too much for a late arrival, especially during holiday season?

I would worry about the shows, as they are so limited in when they are running. But I have found that if you want to close down AK, you will be able to get on a lot of rides later on, as many people go early in the morning and then leave around 3 or so

Yep. Hit the shows and fastpass rides first.

Have a look at the cheat sheets at easywdw.com. Josh has a touring plan for late arrivals at AK.

Agreed. Many a trip to DAK has been ruined by bad show planning. By the time the park is closing, most rides should have minimal/no line.

I say skip the Safari (unless you REALLY want to go on it) to free up more time to concentrate on other things

I wouldnt skip the Safari it is one of the best rides there. I agree to check out show times but when we did go there was a Lion King show right at closing. In my opinion arriving later is better because crowds start clearing out after 3:00. We rode Everest 2 times in a row and Dinosaur with no wait right before closing. We arrived late that day because we ate at Park Fare. We did not have time to do any shows except Flights of Wonder. I was planning on seeing the Lion King but couldn't fit it in. To me making times for the shows is the hardest part of arriving late. I would just pick one show to make it easier.

Ahh I see. Maybe I should use one of my FP for Lion King instead of Dinosaur then? If the lines for rides free up towards the end, I guess it wouldn't be bad to have a FP for Lion King to make sure we get to see it? And change Nemo to the earlier part of the day?

You usually will not need FP for the shows as long as you get there about 15 minutes before it starts. So I would just keep your Dinosaur FP.
