Best Places to Watch Pirate Night Fireworks

We watched from Deck 12, forward of the stage funnel, starboard side - pretty much right above the Cove Bar. We couldn't see the stage show but we didn't care about that. We had a nice view of the fireworks.

We do the same thing -- we always step area from the viewing areas of the stage show -- packed and crowded and lots of lights. We walk to the lesser crowded areas and the views are great.

Thanks! Didn't expect such a detailed clear answer. Members on this board are really the BEST.

So would deck 12 starboard side have a view less obstructed by the funnels, or, are people not allowed to stand on that side? I get so few chances a year to practice firework photography, your great picture makes me itching to try!

For photography I'd suggest Deck 13 forward for the most unobstructed view for photography - there's pretty much nobody watching from there. Deck 12 starboard should also be OK, but you can get further forward on 13 which may give you a better view. I have some photos I took from 13 last month, I'll try to post some this weekend.

Thank you, double-O (re. "Universal Exports" 8-)) Excellent suggestion! Sounds like I'd better scope out the layout beforehand once we get on the ship. Are tripods/monopods allowed, assuming I actually pack one and use it in an uncrowded area?

Definitely take a tripod. I'm usually taking a 4-6 second exposure for the fireworks so a tripod is a necessity. You'll also need to allow time for your lenses to adjust to the heathumidity on deck compared to the air conditioned space inside the ship.

As promised here's a link to a gallery of fireworks photos shot from Deck 13 last month ( https://flic.kr/s/aHskGN7W5f ). A sample below:

Do you have a veranda room? if so, you could watch from there. Another good place would be decks 10/12

As noted, not all verandah rooms can see the fireworks. And some of the ones that you could see them from, room occupants are asked not to be there during the fireworks due to the fall out.

The best place I have seen them from was a top of the Mickey Slide on Disney Dream, but that was at the personal invitiation of the Assistant Cruise Director. The ACD monitors the entire show from up there and invites a few select passengers to view with him. It is great because he explains all of the behind the scenes parts of the show. Absent that invitation, our favorite place to watch is from our starboard side verandah (5536 on newer ships, 8508 on classic ships), and he have never been notified to not be out there for them.
