Best places to eat?

I need to start planning where to eat(well the table services so i can get ADR)
what are the best places to eat?
Are the character dinners any good?
also what are cheap places for breakfast or lunch(we have to pay for one of them)
Also we are staying at pop century, what is the best food items there.
also is it worth getting the refillable cup?
i would probably only use it at night and if we eat lunch or something there.

How exciting you are starting to plan!! I love planning my Disney vacations.
I will say that you will have LOTS of different opinions here on where is the BEST place to eat.
That being said some of our fav places are:
Non Character outside the parks: Ohana (dinner)
Best in Park/Character: Crystal Palace ( lunch or dinner)
Non character in the parks:Yak and Yeti
Best Theme (maybe not great food but worth it): Sci Fi drive in

Oh and on the refillable mugs, I think to each their own, I don't know if I made it worth the money bc I didn't fill it everyday But.. I use it all the time at home and it reminds me of my vacation so I buy them!

Our fav restaurants are Ohana, Yak & Yeti and a must do is the Crystal Palace. We also really enjoyed 50s Prime Time and Coral Reef for the view. We also always go to Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD, great quick service. We got two refillable mugs last trip and we definitely got our money's worth. Coffee and soda every morning, soda at lunch and lemonade throughout the day. Now at use one at work for my water!

My three favorites are Boma, Teppan Edo and the Kona Cafe

'ohana is my choice for the best character breakfast.

My fav non character is Coral Reef

Fav character - we love Crystal Palace for Breakfast, and were really happy with chef mickeys for dinner

Rainforest cafe is pretty cool (dining plan not accepted) - and the food is really good too (they have one at DTD and one at Animal Kingdom)

For the experience we enjoy Chef Mickeys. But for the food we enjoy Le Cellier and this time around we are trying Teppen Edo ( we have heard great things about the restaraunt)

Boma for brekkie! Make it a late brekkie and it will keep you going until late afternoon!

DH2B and I like San Angel although I know a lot don't.Same with Sci-Fi, which is worth it just for the atmosphere (Do lunch at Sci-Fi and have a burger!)

We enjoyed mama melrose when we went there and the price for that is same for lunch or dinner (I THINK!!)

For a nice, reasonably priced sit -down meal in MK try the Plaza-if nothing else go for the desserts!

I enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch when I went a few years back-hoping to introduce DH2B to that one in november.

We love Crystal Palace and Cape May for breakfast. Crystal Palace will get you into the park early if you want and Cape May is quiet and laid back with better character interaction.

We've done Chef Mickey's in the past, but rarely enjoyed the selection and did it more for the pictures than the food. We do really like Garden Grill, though.

As for cheap breakfast or lunch - you won't really find it in WDW. If you're really looking to save some money, bring in some groceries. If you're taking the ME, you can order from amazon.com and have it delivered to your resort. For the small amount you really need to save money, I don't think ordering from the local delivery companies saves you much - unless you choose to order more. A case or two of bottled water (WDW tap water is NASTY) and some shelf-stable snacks and breakfast items, maybe a jug of milk and some orange juice and you're set. The portions at WDW tend to be large enough to be filling for quite some time, so even with a TS breakfast, you could get by with a package of peanut butter crackers in the early afternoon and then an early-ish dinner most days. (We ordered from one of the delivery companies last trip and the bagels we got had a "best by" date that was three days after our arrival date!!)

Grand Floridian Cafe
Kona Cafe
Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party (totally worth it to do at least once)

Epcot Area:
Cape May Cafe dinner
Kouzzina dinner
Yachtsman Steakhouse (we enjoyed this more than Le Cellier and it was very worth the price considering we got two meals out of our one meal there)
Le Cellier (we like this, but TBH, the food we've had there isn't that much better than a local steakhouse. Hopefully this will improve when it becomes a Signature restaurant.)
Rose & Crown

DHS Area:
The Brown Derby
Sci-fi Dine-in
(Epcot resorts work for this, too.)

AK Area:
Boma (we've done Boma for breakfast on DHS days, too.)

MK - Cosmic Rays and Peco bills for cs
Crystal Palace for breakfast, lunch, or dinner TS
HS - 50's Prime Time Cafe has decent food, good service and fun experience.
We like sci fi dine but more for atmosphere
Mama melrose was like an olive garden but better
Toy story pizza planet is fun for a cs
AK - Pizzafari and flametree are good for cs
tusker house breakfast is good for ts
EP - Teppan edo, good food, good service,fun, le cellier - good food and service, san angel inn, we really liked to
sunshine seasons we like for cs
For resorts - Boma, Kona Cafe, Ohanas breakfast are our favorites
for dtd - we love PH and wolfgang puck

crystal palace is good, chef mickeys is fun for the experience, ohanas breakfast is our favorite character meal

food courts at resorts are usually always the cheapest option

pop century has a pretty food court i have never ordered anything and had a problem

we like the refillable mugs as a souvenier but not sure if worth it. We used it alot we took it to dtd and stuff but it was a pain carrying it around sometimes

I agree with this. I feel both places get an unfairly bad rap on boards. Sci-Fi is not great but its good and has an incredible atmosphere. The same can be said for San Angel. Its not great, but its good and has a great atmosphere (albeit far different from Sci-Fi)
