Best places for a quick breakfast?

I'm leaving tomorrow for my first visit to Universal. So excited! :cool1:

I've been reading this board for the last few weeks and have gotten some very valuable information for our trip. Thanks!

I think the only question I have left is about places to grab a quick breakfast. It's just me and my DH going. He doesn't eat breakfast. He's just going to bring some power bars to munch on if he gets hungry. I'm looking for someplace I can grab a quick bite to eat on the way to the parks. We are staying at HRH and I don't eat enough to do the buffet at The Kitchen. Something like a plain bagel would do just fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Last time we stayed at the Hard Rock it had a small coffee shop that sold things like bagles and such like for a light breakie.

Alternate for us would be the Burger King place in Citywalk , we quite like their breakfast buns :)

Might depend though on wether your using the early access to Islands , i think though maybe wrong that the BK place opens around 8 so if you want in the park really sharp that may well not work.

Have a great time you lucky thing.

You several options for breakfast on the way to the park.

In Citywalk, you can purchase a breakfast sandwich at The Whopper Bar or a breakfast pizza at Pastamore's Market Cafe. Beware though, when we did the breakfast pizza at the Market Cafe, they were extremely slow.

Both parks also have restaurants near their entrances that sell breakfast items: In USF, that would be The Boulangerie; In IOA, that would be Croissant Moon Bakery.

Also there are two Cinnabons on property: one is located in Citywalk and the other in IOA.

Thanks for the info, that helps a lot. I don't want to have to sit down for breakfast and lose valuable time in the parks. The coffee shop in HRH sounds perfect.

Croissant Moon Bakery is really yummy and we found it very quick for grabbing breakfast...there is also a Cinnabon in City Walk but that's more dessert than breakfast :rolleyes1

they did have some fruit, yogurt, breakfast rolls type of stuff and packaged items a few years back.
it was all ala carte.

maybe someone that has been there in the past year can add to this .

they are open earlier enough where you could still do EE.

If you drink coffee, do try the in-room coffee! It's been Emeril's k-cups both times we've been there, and it's rather tasty.

DW got so addicted to the Keurig coffee machine in the Universal onsite hotels, that we purchased one.

I wouldn't stop in city walk - might jeopardize early entry.

There's a stand selling croissants and fruit (and maybe some other breakfast pastry type things - never looked too closely) in WWoHP. It's on the left if you're walking towards FJ (and why wouldn't you be?) About half way through the village.

Good to know, thanks!

We prefer this sort of breakfast, too, and at Universal we just bring breakfast food with us because their prices for this sort of thing are obscenely high IMO, and the service not so fast.

I take along a small plastic box of muffins, a few pieces of fruit and some smoked cold cuts and then all we need is coffee. It's the same sort of thing we could buy in the coffee shop, but I can eat it in my room without having to take time to forage or stand in line.

i know i listed places earlier in this thread but what i do is eat junk food for bfast.

i'm on vacation and the spouse is not with me to see what i am doing.

coffee in the room, thank you keurig.
box of donuts to go with it..

Hi!

in the process of planning our trip to Universal (HRH) in Sept. 12. :yay:

Do they replenish the k-cups everyday? We are used to making a big pot of coffee in room (at Disney) and prefer (and need) to drink it as we get ready -- thanks,

Thanks everyone for the advise. Emack & Bolio’s turned out to be excellent.

They opened at 6:30 am so we stopped each day on the way to the parks. I grabbed a bagel and Coke and munched on the walk to the parks. The bagels were fresh everyday and very good.

We made friends with a squirrel who waited under the same tree every day for a piece of my bagel.

Emack & Bolio's also had donuts, fresh fruit, breakfast bars and even some hot breakfast sandwiches.

yes they do.
call star service on your phone and request the pods you want.
they will send them to your room.

the first thing i do when i reach my room is call and request 15 pods of the Emerils bold.

i'm big on coffee all day long....

note for newbies to the Loews hotels and the keurig:
run water through the keurig before you use the pods.
it will clean out the system and give you a better tasting coffee.

Does anyone know if the Cinnabon in IOA is open during early WWHOP time? We'd love to stop there and grab in a roll but if it's not open we'll just grab something at the hotel. The hours say park open to park close, but I didn't know if that included the early opening.

most of city walk (food service) opens at 8:00 am.

last fall when i was there, it did not open early.
