i am helping a friend plan his first trip to the world!!! he asked me yesterday about proposing to his girlfriend at the world. how and where? i can answer every other question he has. but not this. but hey, i have you guys to help me!! :goodvibes so any suggestions on how or where a guy can propose to his girl? i told him to definitely have a photographer there to capture the moment. and he knows he will get a yes. thanks guys!

Suggestions.
In front of Cinderella's castle.
In the grassy area in the Main Street Town Square in front of the train station.
In Cinderella's Royal Table.
In front of Spaceship earth on the side of it facing world showcase where the fountain is.
In Chef Mickey's.
In the Ca Grill right after wishes.

Pretty trusting person to rely on complete strangers to make his proposal a success ;) . But seriously, I would definitely suggest that he check out the places by himself first.

I have seen people get engaged literally all over the place at WDW. The rose garden near the old Swan Boats dock seems to be quite popular, as is pretty much any uncrowded spot with a nice view of the castle.

I got engaged behind Cinderella's castle with the Golden Carousel to the back of me. It was absolutely perfect!!! My FI actually gave the video camera to a CM working by the castle so we have it all on video. He also kept my ring in the video camera bag all day. It's even better than having pictures, so suggest that to him.

I also saw a guy propose right in front of the castle during Wishes when Jiminy says "what do you wish for." I cried!! LOL!

Tell your friend GOOD LUCK!!

definately in front of the castle... does she have a favorite character? or a favorite restaurant? maybe on the beach at the grand floridian or Polynesian at night watching the fireworks?? :)

I have to tell you... one of my friends was in a cinderella musical where she sang and was cinderella. so her boyfriend decided he'd go to wdw to propose and they went and he was going to propose in front of the castle...BUT he chickened out!!! He ended up proposing in the hotel as they were packing their bags to go home! the best part is he told his buddies he proposed at the castle :)!!! :rotfl2:

whatever he decides... at disney... he can't go wrong :)

maybe on a cruise watching illuminations or wishes? :cloud9:

My BIL proposed to my sister in front of the huge sorcerer hat at MGM. If it were my choice I would want to be proposed to somewhere near the castle during Wishes.

I proposed to my DW on the beach at the Polynesian on the first night of the trip. We had done the monorail loop and wanted to watch Wishes from the beach (this was planned in advance). I set up the video camera on the tripod and pulled her in front of it with the premise we were going to talk about our first day at the World. I did the one-knee thing and totally surprised her - it was awesome. I tried to time it so the fireworks would go off right then, but I was about three minutes early. My sister (her best friend) was our hidden photographer - she drove down without my DW knowing and was taking pictures of the whole thing. :rolleyes1 After my DW said yes, my sister ran up to share in the hugs and tears. Seeing my sister was a double shock to my DW and made the night even more magical. I highly recommend doing the proposal early in the trip. We got to celebrate all week, and she was telling all the CM's that we had just gotten engaged.
BTW - that Disney magic is still with us - we took our honeymoon at WDW and are going back in three weeks for our first anniversary! :thumbsup2 :lovestruc  :cloud9:

If they're adventuresome, how about uphill on Expedition Everest, or at the top of Space Mountain? There's nothing like feeling your stomach drop –– TWICE!
:woohoo:
Or during Kilamanjaro Safari ride at AK? (Just make sure he doesn't drop the ring!)

Also, maybe one of the restaurants could put "Will You Marry Me?" in chocolate on a dessert plate (would require calling ahead).

Oh, man! I want DH to propose to ME again! :bride:

How 'bout during one of the drops on Tower of Terror??? :cool1:

I also think Polynesian on the beach during the fireworks, could it get any more romantic? Maybe during the finale otherwise she won't notice the fireworks at all!! :rotfl2: And definately early in the trip so they can spend the rest of it engaged :thumbsup2

Last May, the guy standing next to us proposed to his girlfriend during the finale of Wishes.

It was great.

Here's how Id' do it romantically:

Stay in the park until closing. When the park closes, stay on Main St. for a long time. Hang out. Have ice creat and whatever. After a while Main St will be DEAD. the CM's won't kick you out. We have been the last people on Main St. You can then walk up to the castle and do it on the balcony area of the castle. It's VERY romantic and as long as you stay on the Main St. side of the castle they'll let you roam. The park music is still playing and yet, the place is all yours.

I would do it in the rose garden to the right of the castle, during wishes!

Or on a carriage ride around POFQ, I just love hearing that horse clomp around the resort.

Or maybe do Chefs table at Victoria and Alberts and have them put it in the dessert plate?

OR on a wishes cruise on the breathless?

Or maybe in one of the countries at world showcase. I cannot remember for sure but doesnt england have a nice garden, Canada has that waterfall, etc.

Post back later and tell us where he did it!!!

That was how I did it :bounce:

You guys are seriously making me tear up right now! DBF and I are high school sweethearts-together for over 8 years! We are in no rush to get married (obviously!), but every time I read one of these posts, I get all teary-eyed! One of these days now... :bride:

I got asked right in front of the castle. I had no idea! It was great!

Man, I wish my DH had done it at Disney. He proposed to me at Red Lobster. :sad2:

I think it would be cool to get Mickey involved! I don't know as much about Disney as the others on this board, but why not wait in line for a picture with Mickey, and tell a CM on the sly what your plans are. I bet they would have fun trying to make it special.

My oldest DD just got proposed to at WDW last month.
Her fiance was carrying around the ring waiting for the "right" time. The second night when they were taking a walk around OKW by themselves, he decided it was best just to go ahead and ask her. So, his place was the walkway at OKW in front of the lighthouse.

Geez all these are making me weepy, I got proposed to in the middle of the mall AFTER I picked out the ring I wanted :rotfl2:
