We'll be arriving at WDW before/around sunrise. We're staying at the Dolphin but will have a car so could go anywhere on property. It's a crapshoot whether our kids will be awake or not, but it would be nice to have a nice spot to shoot for should we find everyone awake.

That is one of the weird things about Florida. No matter where you are the sunrise and sunsets are spectacular. We own at BLT and i love watching the sun come up over the lakes because they tend to be warmer then the air so they have a nice layer of surface fog plus the orange morning sun lights up the magic kingdom in such a way... Super cool. Since you are in the epcot area how about just walking over to the boardwalk or DTD... I only know my resort so beyond that i can't add more.

A room on a high floor that faces east would probably be your best bet for a good view of the sunrise. Florida is very flat so a high floor is the best way to get above trees and buildings.

from the dolphin, I would think you could get some great shots from the bridge between Boardwalk Villas and Yacht club looking towards Beach Club and Spaceship Earth.
