Relatively last minute trip planning here, staying for only 2 nights in late June, 1 park day, and looks like HEA will be around 9:20pm.

We arrive on a Friday, staying at Contemporary (for the 1st time!) and not getting park tickets for that day. I've never watched the fireworks from outside the park but since we're only doing 1 park day the next day, we won't be ending at MK so thought it'd be fun to try and do that on arrival night.

I think these are the options but what am I missing?

1. Dinner at California Grill and time it for the show? It's just so late to eat but might be ok (and also probably hard to get?)
2. Sit outside on the patio at Polynesian (? I think you can do this?)
3. Something at Grand Floridian?

My ADR window opens up tomorrow morning ack! so am in a last minute panic if it involves reservations somewhere, although know I can probably find something along the way as it gets closer if I'm lucky.

Thanks!!

You can eat earlier at Cali Grill, keep your receipt and return in time to watch fireworks. You just present the receipt at the check-in downstairs to verify that you had dinner there earlier that evening. Anyway, that has been allowed. Maybe someone else will know for sure. We've not been back since fall 2021 and are learning some things we'd counted on have changed.

There's a 4th floor deck at the CR that may be available, but I found my view somewhat blocked by taller guests standing in front of me. It was crowded, too. Not very pleasant for that reason.

The Poly and GF sometimes restrict popular viewing areas to guests of that resort only, depending on the season. I wouldn't count on either.

Geyser Point QS at Wilderness Lodge, the open-air lounge, is near enough the lake's edge you can see the fireworks well. I'd order drinks and snacks at least if trying that as a viewing area. We didn't stay that late but could easily have watched fireworks from our table.

I can’t speak for the Grand but this is really only the case at Poly for the 4th of July and NYE. Have never heard of the Poly beach being restricted to Poly guests otherwise.

Yes, you can go to the beach at Poly.
At GF, you can go to the marina or the MK-resort boat dock.
The view is better at Poly.

If Cali Grill or the CR 4th floor viewing deck don’t work, ride the monorail to the TTC and watch from near the ferry dock. The view is nearly straight on to the castle rather than from the side like from CR, and the music is piped in.

This is still allowed.
