Wishes will be new to us when we go this year - so I am wondering - whats the best to view from? The hub at the entrabnce to the park so you get a straight on shot of the castle? Or at the hub in front of the castle so you are right there in front of it? Is it smoky that close? And I noticed some of the WDW photos of wishes are taken from the left side of the castle I believ at the walkway in front of Crystal Palace? Is that a good place to view from?

there's almost always a crosswind tht carries the shells to the left across the castle, and the trees in front of CP block the view. go to the right of the castle for the best 'front view'.

Do they only cancel for rain? Or do they ever cancel for other reasons?

We are going to DW next week :teeth: ,how far in advance do you think we would need to scout out a spot for wishes near the castle (3 adults and one baby in a stroller)?

Hi!

A super place to view Wishes is from the Rose Garden, just to the right of the Castle (viewing the Castle head on from Main Street). This used to be the area that you boarded the Swan Boats - very private and great view of the Castle.

9 days until our next trip! :Pinkbounc

We sat right in front of the castle. I don't think it's the best view. I would sit further back. Being right in front I think we lost some of the effect of fireworks.

we were on a bridge between tomorrow land and main street and thought we ahd a great view. turns out the fireworks came from the right of the castle and a tree blocked our view. a great view of the castle does not guarantee a great view. i recommend being back towards the entrance.

The best view for wishes is in the seating area of tommorrowland food court just past the plaza restaurant. Make a right at the Main street ice cream, go past Plaza restaurant into Tommorrowland and left right at the edge of the seating area. Tinkerbell comes right down over you.

Or the second floor of the Train Station

Also , remember that if you are at the train station watching that you will be able to be some of the first people to be able to get out of the park after the fireworks. :)

I second the train station upper level! Of all the places, this is where I like it best. If you stake out your spot early enough, you can grab a chair and have a wonderful view of the entire show!
On my last trip we were right in front of the castle (sitting on the concrete, packed in like sardines!) and we were TOO close as the castle itself blocked about half of the fireworks display.

Great question...great answers! i had been thinking about it myself.

Added question: How far in advance do you secure a spot?

I am having the same "worries" about Illuminations :earsgirl:

Thank you all for your responses - great ideas - we went one year and my daughter and I were at the hub at the front of the park - that was a great place to see spectromagic - but I did not know that the fireworks would follow so we went home... oops - then last time we went we were at the rose garden which I thought was agreat place for viewing fireworks (and not crowded either) - But from that vantage point you don't have the world's best view of spectromagic.

Last time we went we scouted out spots and parked ourselves at the front hub at least 45 minutes ahead of time, and people were already gathering.
Not packed but people were already sitting down waiting.

I think we will try the train station this year...

Try by the Polynesian pool. We stayed there but other people from other hotels were there as well. Could not here all the music or words but really enjoyed the fireworks from across the bay. After that stay and have dinner!!
