Ok so where is the best place to sit on splash mountain to try and stay as dry as possible?

Over by the benches next to City Hall. :lmao: seriously, though, definitely not the front row, we've gotten SOAKING wet there every time - i would GUESS the back row, but even then i think you get wet, just not AS wet as the front..

There were six of us riding this past week and we all agreed the 2nd and 3rd seats stayed the dryest, but you still got splashed.

I mean, nobody can guarantee it, it mainly depends on if they have the water cannon going, but I usually call the left side when I'm with my friends :)

Dead Center.

You're avoiding the splashes by having the people in front, and back of you. and if there are people on each side of you, you're avoiding the waterfall. Although, on warmer days.. there is a splash that douses the WHOLE boat. So, its inevitable there.

Unless of course you get people like we got. You know, the ones who take up 2 rows in front of you and the very front manually splashes the people in the 2nd row who "didn't get wet enough" never thinking that the water could get past them and hit the people they don't know. :rolleyes1

I stayed relatively dry sitting in the last row by ducking! It made for a priceless picture...everyone else smiling and holding their arms up except for me...you see my arms over my head! :)

That has happened to me before.

If you end up in the front row and do not really want to be totally soaked - bend over/crouch down as much as you can when you go down the big drop. We have found it usually passes right over us then and clobbers the second row. DH and I were in the front row last June - our two teenaged DD's were behind us. HHEHEHEEEEEE

i always sit in the 2nd seat! my dd and dh love the front row! i stay pretty dry as long as the log that's coming down doesn't splash me!
have fun!

As others have said, it's best to choose the back row. Also the left side is better. Towards the beginning of the ride when you come around the "briar patch" and come around where you go up a little hill (and see the logs coming down the big hill) on warm or hot days they fire a water cannon to simulate the log splashing. It just so happens that this water cannon is what generally ends up soaking everybody. BUT if you choose the left side, you chances of getting hit will be much less. Can you tell I don't like the "getting wet" part about Splash Mountain? And of course you'll avoid spray at the bottom of the big hill if you duck down at the towards the bottom of the hill.

Those are the two you really need to worry about in terms of getting wet.

Best ride ever though!

This thread is very interesting! I'm working up the courage to do it for the first time in all my trips when I go this January and am trying to decide where to sit and what to wear to be prepared!

I greatly encourage you to ride it. You will not be sorry you did. Yeah the drop at the end is a little intense. But it is over SO quick. My 7 yr old daughter hated it the first couple times she rode it (partly because she fell onto the floor of the log, but that's a whole other story) but now she loves it!

I've actually never gotten wet so far... and I have sat in a few different places

Great.... next time I ride I bet I get drenched haha

I've never gotten off of Spalsh Mountain completely dry because the seats are usually wet already before we get into our log!

As the sign states "You will get wet, you might get soaked!" :rotfl2:

The very best place to sit to stay dry is right behind me. I'm tall and broad-shouldered, and take the brunt of the big splash, protecting those immediately behind me. My kids noticed this last time and then argued with each other over who got to sit behind me. :D
