We're still in the planning stages but I figured nows as good a time as any to get info on rental cars!

We're heading out Oct. 27 and returning Nov. 9th - 7 of those days will be on-site at WDW. We'll also be going to US and visiting my Grandma who lives in Kissimee (I haven't seen her in 9+ years!) We're figuring we'll need a car for at least a week if not the whole trip (emergency trips to the store for diapers, etc...)

Family of 5 - Dh and I and our kids, 7(8 during travel), 2, and 3 or 4 months depending on when she arrives. We're pretty good about packing so we'll have one large suitcase and a smaller one also a compact double stroller.

When is the best time to start looking into rentals? Best ways to get the good deals? Companies to avoid?

TIA!!

Go to rentalcodes.com for discount codes to use for rental cars. I've used National, Dollar, Alamo and Budget in recent memory. You want to be sure the rental company is ONSITE at the airport to make your life easier. The companies above are on on-site. There's another non-national rental company called L & M that's also onsite, but some people have problems with them; others swear by them.

If you find a price you can live with, reserve it, but always keep checking back to see if the price goes down or new codes come out. You can always cancel the ressie you have and rebook or try to make changes on your existing ressie. Prices go up and down as often as airfares do!
