I'm a little ways off from actually selling my Rebel Xti body but all this talk on here has me itching for a 50D or something.

Where do you guys go to sell your stuff before you upgrade?

sell stuff, what is that..:confused3

I keep my stuff for backups, you never know when something bad could happen to a piece of equipment

Craig's List. If you have the patience to sift through all the scam replies, it is a decent way to sell gear for cash. No paypal or shipping to deal with.

I agree - Craigslist.org. I have both bought and sold on Craigslist and I highly recommend it. :)

i sold mine to adorama, they give 70% of the value and i didn't have to get 742 scam emails asking me to "please cash this $4 million check for your $200 camera and send me the left over money":rotfl: they will either trade or send a check
i tired cragislist before and only got one legit hit but that could depend on where you live.
fredmiranda has a buysell that seems to sell a lot but maybe more on the upper level of goods.

I'd use craigs list if you are comfortable meeting someone in person. I prefer to meet someone central like a WalMart parking lot. It provides some safety for both parties and gives them a chance to look over what they are buying, you might get more for it as a result. And as others have mentioned, saving on paypal fees and shipping hassle is definately worth something.

Ebay is also a good option, but you have to put more effort into it just to stand out.

I just sold a a bunch of equipment on eBay last week. Did real well. Some lenses sold for more that I paid for them 5 years ago.

But some words of advice. From my experience, I saw more international bidders for my camera gear than I have for other items I have sold in the past. Evidently, they can buy the gear, pay international shipping and customs fees cheaper than buying it local. Also, I saw many bids from international bidders with 0 or 1 feedback. Everyone has to start somewhere but I would prefer not on my good glass. I have never had a problem and always sold worldwide, but you have to be comfortable with the risk or place restrictions on your auction to US only and be prepared to cancel bids that do not comply.

KEH is a good place to get online estimates of what they would pay. It is easy and they have a good rep.
