My step-son is thinking about popping the question to his girlfriend on our big family trip this fall... That got us thinking about the best, most romantic place to propose... We were thinking the rose garden with the Castle as a backdrop... or maybe during the fireworks... We are staying at BLT so he could do it at the TOWL too.. I know, very corney, but hey, why not. So, I told him that I would do a little research to help him out...

So all my experts out there, what are your suggestions???

Thanks
Ty

Do they have any special spots there? Or any special things they like to do together that ties in with Disney?

I think dinner at V&A would be a very upscale romantic way to do it. Renting a boat from the CR and taking it out on Bay Lake would be nice, especially during the fireworks. Watching the fireworks from Poly beach (maybe on a barefoot stroll)...

We were on a family trip in 2006 when our (then future son-in-law) flew down and suprised our daughter by popping the question to her at the Rose Garden at MK. We stood under the boat dock and witnessed a special moment we will never forget.

It was a beauitful setting that was topped only by their wedding at Seabreeze Point at the Boardwalk, (our home resort) a year later.

Every time we walk by those 'special' places we think about those wonderful memories.

Best of luck to your stepson and your future daughter-in-law, wherever he decides to pop the question!

Fireworks worked for me. I proposed under the fireworks display at the old Pleasure Island. She looked up at the fireworks, which was a perfect distraction to get on a knee, and blew her away. My family has photos of the entire event. It's a winner in my book, and I think my wife agrees.

My husband and I met during the college program. Our first date was to the MK and we ended the night watching Wishes. When my family went down one summer, my husband flew down to surprise me. We had dinner at California Grill, and he proposed as Wishes began on the observation deck. It worked for me!! :lovestruc

However, if they have a special place, attraction, show, etc. that is what he should pick. Ours was a "redo" of our first date, with the addition of a delicious meal. Anything would have been romantic if it reflected on us as a couple.

I would think if he is going to do it at Disney, it HAS to be in MK, with the castle as a backdrop. You cant get anymore iconic or memorable than that for a special occasion. Either at the rose garden or perhaps by the wishing well if it is a little more private. If he decides to do it during wishes, perhaps he can time it so her answer comes just before the finale bursts. I wonder if you contact guest relations, they can arrange an open spot for him at the top of the ramp leading up to the castle. Kind of front and center.

Hope this helps him and good luck!

I proposed to my wife at Cinderella's Royal Table. They have a specific package where they will bring out the ring in a glass slipper right before the fireworks and a photographer captures the whole thing. We have wonderful pictures from that night.

Our DS proposed during the fireworks at Epcot at midnight on New Year's Eve!:thumbsup2

I rented out one of the boats and proposed to my wife on a Wishes Cruise. The boat captain was so excited that she took us on a two hour tour of both lakes and docked the boat at the Wedding Pavilion to take some photos of us. She was ABSOLUTELY wonderful! :lovestruc

He could always propose on a ride like this guy did. http://www.helloadorable.com/blogs/helloadorable/log-flume-proposal-537

Would have loved it if my DH had thought of it ....

I saw someone propose right before a parade when the streets were cleared of people. He must have spoken with a CM that let him come out in the middle of the street to propose in front of everyone! Actually I think this was near a photopass photographer now that I think about it. That would be neat to get a picture of the proposal!

My DH proposed to me during the Tapestry of Nations parade (something that was very important historically to our relationship) but that parade is sadly gone with the wind. There are many beautiful places to make a romantic backdrop at WDW, but I'd be looking for a spot with a special connection to the two of them...even if it's the Tiki Birds!
