It's not far and soooooo good.
You could go to Downtown Anaheim for the Packing House or Center Street Promenade or walk over to the Garden Walk for McCormick & Schmick's, Roy's or Fire & Ice.
There's some seating by the pool. Not other places on property though. We are driving from Phoenix and staying at the Best Western Parks Pluss Inn. We will for sure be bringing some adult beverages from home. We've never stayed there so no idea what seating looks like outdoors or by the pool.
We had Tortllia Joes on our last trip and were not impressed with it. We liked the quick service side much better and that was one option we were looking at for our first night there but I also wanted to know what else is available outside the Disney bubble
GoBears 1980 - how is the Packing House? I looked it up a few weeks ago, and looks fantastic! Is everything fast food - as in buy where you want, then everyone can sit at a communal table somewhere? I really liked the options and it would be something different to try! We don't mind driving, we'll have a few non-DLR days, so no biggie. Though it looks SUPER close driving distance anyway.

Pizza Press is just like Blaze Pizza in Tempe, Pieology in Phoenix, MOD Pizza, 800 Degrees, Pizza Studio, Pie Five Pizza, PizzaRev or any of the other half dozen "fast, casual artisan pizza" places that have replaced FroYo as the franchise to have.
If you have your own car you can do a lot better than Pizza Press.
I think it's just that it's across the street from Disneyland. No driving - and cheap! At around $10 a pizza it's way cheaper than eating in the park. We've ate at FirePie and some of the other chains in Phoenix, but I find Pizza Press superior. Oh, and here's a coupon: http://visitanaheim.org/deals/coupons
They offer the same 10% off for annual passes.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but Captain Kidd's Buffet is really good and it's right next to Best Western Park Place Inn. We just left Disneyland today and ate there a few days ago. My family and I loved it, and plan on eating there next time we go.

Have they changed then? We went back in 2003, I think, and it was awful. We could not tell the difference between any of the items (I am not exaggerating... the lighting was this weird Amber color over the buffet and everything looked the same). We had to wait until we got back to the table to even figure out what we had put on our plates, and then against out better judgment, we ate it and everything was awful. While researching for our next trip, we found all sorts of posts where people were warning others from visiting after they had food poisoning , etc. Thankfully, we felt fine, but I have never seen a positive review of Captain Kidd's... or Captain Krudd's, as I recently saw it called somewhere. To be honest, when I first saw this good review, I was waiting for the,"Psych!"
Did you eat there for breakfast? If so how was it?
It was the first time I've ever eaten there and I thought it was great. Sorry you had a bad experience.
We went to captain kidds back in 2012, and same thing... Absolutely terrible food. I chose to leave hungry. When we eat off property we have done Mimi's, or the downtown Disney selection which usually includes the rainforest cafe, which we did breakfast there last time and it was great! And cheap. I never realized they served breakfast. We did the express portion of tortilla joes this last trip as well and that was tasty. We tend to not venture to far off property since we don't have a means of transportation when we are there.Have they changed then? We went back in 2003, I think, and it was awful...."
