I am thinking buying directly from Disney is the best price for a two day park ticket. I am missing a better option?

You've got most of the answer right. Buy from Disney, but make the purchase using a Disney gift card that can be found at less than face value. BJs and Sam's Club are two sources. (The former allows non-members to buy from its web site.)
