Hi kirstyfly
Yep, it's not great is it. We're from Aus so we have a similar exchange rate to you and it really hurts the hip pocket : (
Prices have really jumped and with our crappy exchange rates - Aus & NZ - it's even worse.
Back when we first went in 2012 the USD was at parity with ours and it wasn't too bad at all. We've been back each year and each year the prices go up and the exchange rate has gotten worse.
We are going again in July - just my husband and I this trip luckily - I bought our tickets ~ 9mths ago before the recent ticket increase and before MaxPass rose from $10/day to $15/day. For a 3 day park hopper with MP included I paid $1000 AUD for 2 adults - ouch!!! I bought directly from Disney though, which I don't normally do.
There is a 10day pass available to Aus / NZ'ers - I last got that in 2017 and paid $450 AUD each, they are now $640 AUD each, so a big increase. It used to be only a little more than getting a 5 day hopper but they really upped the price of it in the last few months so it's not as great a value now.
Disney does occasionally have 'discounted special' tickets. They currently have a pretty good one but the tickets have to be used by May 23rd - just before the new 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge' land opens. This new land is going to be VERY popular so it is unknown whether there will be discounted tickets available in the foreseeable future. They probably won't need to offer any sort of discount to entice people to come for the foreseeable future, who knows.
They do sometimes have other special offers but often they are only for local residents so you have to watch for that.
There are some reliable discount retailers you can get tickets from. Some I can think of are:
Undercover Tourist, LMT Travel Club, Ares Travel - but they are all priced in USD but you can compare to Disney's price to see if there is much of a savings for you.
There is a website I've used to purchase tickets here in AUD, I've bought my 10day ticket off them each time. They also sell 2 - 5 day tickets.
They used to be called 'My Personal Travel Planner' but it has changed name.

They say they have tickets for NZ'ers as well but I would contact them to confirm that. I've only purchased in AUD. They do respond to you by email so it would be worth checking a price with them and checking validity for you of course. Also, check the prices through one of your travel agents there and see what price they give you. A few posters have mentioned being able to get the 10day ticket there in NZ through local travel agents.
Good luck with it : )
