I know they vary in quality and price. I love those princess costumes they sell at WDW- anyone know the best place to get nice quality princess clothes besides ebay?

I'm curious to see the responses to this. We're going in early July and Id like to have her a dress by then as well.

I had the same question before we went on our trip and some very nice people told me about: Target and Walmart. They have the same dresses: Snow White, Aurora and Cinderella. They are $20. each. They are very pretty, but very small. I don't think that you could get someone older than a three year old or a small four year old in them. Very cute.

I agree...check Walmart or Target. A couple months ago, I found an adorable Tinker Bell dress on clearance for $15 at a local Walmart. While it's huge on my almost 2 yr old, I can see that it will probably only fit for a couple years at the most.
I did notice that on ebay they have an even better quality (or at least looks like it) but it comes with a hefty price tag (more than $50).
I am really pleased with the dress from Walmart. It 's a very full dress with detachable wings and lots of tulle. princess:

I have seen those- they are adorable but my princess needs the 7/10 size. She wants that to be her formal wear on the Disney Cruise- I am so glad that she isn't too cool to be a princess so I want to encourage her idea.

I don't know of any source for that size, besides Disney. The dresses they sell in the parks are very nice and much higher quality than the Walmart/Target ones.
I think they sell in the parks around $50-$60, and I think that is a lot of money, but I bet you would have spent $35 on a nice dress for the cruise anyway, so it really isn't that much more.

You better watch out for me, I am a shopping enabler.

I don't know if you are a sewer or not??? I never could but my sister-in-law bought the size 3 or 4 dress and made it into a size 10 dress. She took it apart and only had to spend $3.00 in material. It's adorable. By the way, I thought that the $55.00 dress at Disney was pretty much the same quality. I kept hearing how much better they were but maybe I'm in the minority I didn't see much difference at all. I hope that you find what you are looking for.

Brand new with shipping for $44.00. I hope the quality is good. Yes-- I would have spent at least that much for a nice dress.

What beautiful dresses! Did they have a Cinderella dress too?

This probably won't help you now, but princess gowns are plentiful at the Disney Store around Halloween and often get discounted. I got my daughter a Cinderella gown 1/2 price (~17.50) on 10/31 last year & gave it to her for Christmas. She's going to wear it to Cinderella's breakfast. Something to keep in mind for future trips.

That's when I buy them every year. And I buy them Oct 30th so they have all the sizes I want/need then I go in on November 2nd or so and get the price adjusted. The Disney Store by me has specials on Wednesday (one day deals, like $5 off $25 or an extra 10% off sale items) and new mark downs on Thursdays and will price adjust for at least one week (I think they are one week and Gymboree is 30 days but I could have that backwards...)

I bought my niece a cinderella dress after halloween at CVS for $5.00. She loves it. I also bought her the Alice in Wonderland Dress at the Belz outlet last Aug. It was the exact one that was at the parks and I think I paid $12 for it. You could probably find the phone number somewhere and give them a call. I'm sure they could ship to you. Their inventory changes, but talking to the CM at the store it sounded like they usually have one of the Princess Dresses.

That is perfect- Our cruise is the second week in December so I will try to score one in early November.
Yes, I saw a pretty Cinderella dress but not for those prices- it was $59 I think. If my dd were a blonde I would HAVE to get it. Just Gorgeous- I will try to find the picture and post it here.

These dresses are all from the same product line. i think it is called Disney's Enchanted Princesses Deluxe. I notice in each picture the little girls are holding the skirt out to make it look more full- they may need a crinolin (SP?) to achieve the same look.

We have the dresses from the pictures, the Disney Enchanted Deluxe Line, I think. And I purchased them in COSTCO in August. I know it won't help some people, but they are GREAT quality and a great price, 29.99. They are wonderful and come in two sizes, 4-6 and 7-10. If you can wait until August it is another option.

That is right- those are the available sizes...
I love Costco- in fact- that's how I booked my cruise! I will look around for them in August- I already have the Snow White one being delivered but I also like the Belle dress- if I can get it for $29.99 I don't think I will be able to resist.

The dresses in the pictures are pretty cute!!! Does anyone know if the ones you buy at WDW are nicer?!

Here is a site I found for costumes http://www.missem.com/index.html
They are expensive but you can custom order for your childs size.
I found them while doing a search for an Alice in Wonderland dress for my DD to wear at the Wonderland Tea Party.
