Was hoping for some input on what places might be the cheapest to stock up on film for our upcoming trip. We have a digital camera now & it's been a long time since I've purchased any film. I want to be prepared for the millions of pictures I'm sure to take of the Christmas decorations & will be taking both cameras.

I will be looking to purchase Kodak Advantix film. Thanks for any info anyone can give me! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Pardon my ignorance, but isnt Advantix film for regular(e.g. non-digital) cameras?

If your looking for memory for your digital camera, that's a different animal.

For regular film, I'd say Costco/Sam's Club for the best deals.

The original poster said he was bring both his cameras.

arizonacolbys,
Looking for APS film that is cheap is almost an oxymoron.
However, Wal*Mart does have good prices on it. Just a personal opinion after having processed three different brands of APS film, Kodak is really not the best, Fuji is. Polaroid stinks. Often Fuji is less expensive, but, the 4th layer of color they use makes a HUGE difference in color, especially on stills.

I have always been happy with WM's film prices. Normally they are running standard what KMarts and Targets sale prices are. One thing I do watch for is when KM has a coupon type special. A year or two ago they had a tear off coupon on box for $2 off which did bring it below WM's price. They also had a battery coupon one time with purchase 2 packs of batteries and get $5 off film so keep your eyes open at KM.

Walgreens had a fantastic film deal a couple of summers ago - we stopped at about 3 of them on the way to Washington DC to supplement our film supply but I have never spotted as good of a once since- just another place to keep in mind.

Check the inside of your Fuji packs. Sometimes the multi-packs will have a $1 off next purchase coupon in them or sometimes in the Sunday flyers too.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!! We used to get it where my husband got an employee discount - but that is no longer. I will probably check out Wal-Mart here. Thanks again! :D

try a wholesale club if you belong (BJs, Costco, Sam's Club, etc). I normally can get a 6pk for around $15. Also, check the "end aisle's" at target (where they keep the clearance merchandise). I am NOT kidding. I was looking and found Fuji 3pk on clearance for $1.99 - I SWEAR. I went up front and asked if it was "bad" - why was it on clearance. She told me they were just getting new stuff in. This was pretty recent. I loaded up and bought 10 3 packs. I have since delveloped some of the film and it's fine!!

For some reason, I never thought of BJ's for the film. I'll have to go check that out. Because we have the digital camera now we hardly ever use our regular camera anymore. I just want to make sure I'll have a back-up in case our digital camera fills up. (I'm sure we'll take way too many pictures! ;) )

Thanks again! :D

You know, once you buy the film and process it you might find it more cost effective in the long run to just buy more digital media.
They are out on ebay for very reasonable prices.

I just picked up a 6 pack of advantix 400 speed-25 exposures reduced to $15.49 at BJ's here in Franklin. I don't know if all BJ's have them reduced.

I figured a 6 pack plus the few extra's I have hanging around should be enough for regular film... We're also bringing our digital and laptop, so we can download the card each night.
