If Disney was to build a new theme park in North America, where would it be and what would the main theme be?

I vote Dallas! Because I would LOVE to work there! Cant imagine it would ever happen, but it sure would be nice!

Each section of the park would be based on a different decade in our history. 2000s, 80s, 60s, 50's, and so on. Theming would be based on things that were popular during that decade as well as Disney films that were made during that time.

... that the best place would be Winnipeg, Manitoba. Nice, flat terrain and wide open spaces would be perfect for building attractions. Plus, it's a central location. Yes, Winnipeg experiences snow in winter, but I think that surely with all of the technology they have now, it would be possible to build a dome over the entire thing so that it could be climate-controlled and beautiful every day of the year!

I voted for Dallas, not just because it would be nice to have a Disney park only four hours drive from here, but because all the other options have cold winters with snow. While it can get very cold in Texas, it usually only lasts a couple of days at a time.

I doubt Disney would put a park anywhere where attendance would suffer because of the climate.

I would have to vote for "none of the above". I think if I could chose anywhere I would say somewhere in the northeast, just not NYC because it is already so crowded as it is.

DALLAS!!!

But Wait! That would mean more traffic!!! Let me think about this....

There have been rumors about both Houston and Dallas being possible sites for a new park. I voted for Dallas because it was the closest to me.

I'll be happy with it being anywhere within a 4 hour drive from me.

Dallas.....reason......weather. The Northern choices have some tough winter weather. It's no closer to me than WDW, but I can't imagine touring Disney in a snowsuit! That would be a pretty picture. hehehehe;)

How about None Of The Above and put San Antonio or Houston there instead? :teeth:

I would love to have an American version of Disney Sea in Houston :teeth:

Or Austin would be nice -- it's currently a rather small city but is the state capitol and doesn't have any major theme parks to contend with yet -- closest are the parks in San Antonio. And the weather is nicer in Austin than it is in Houston or San Antonio. Not as apt to flood (though it does flood on occasion)

Another good one I've heard is an American History-based park in Virginia. Rumor is that one fell through, though, because of where they wanted to build it.

I would say Dallas because I live so close, but actually I think San Antonio would be good because of the other attractions there. It's so Dad Gummed Hot in North Texas - I like gettin' outa here for my vacation. San Antonio would be just close enough for me.

There was talk about 10 years ago that Disney did own some land north of Dallas:confused:

I voted for NYC & Tor. just because they are both within a day's drive for me :p ... but it will never happen because of all the snow up here...
