On the Dining Plan and plan to have our TS at lunch in the Magic Kingdom, on our MK day. We want to use it as a break and some down time during the busy period before we hit the park again. DH is very reluctant to leave MK for a meal that day... we are already dining at 1900 Park Fare and Ohana's on other days.
Right now we have an ADR for the Crystal Palace because we enjoyed the breakfast there last time. Reading the reviews though, it sounds like, perhaps we should be considering somewhere else? It doesn't have to be a character meal... it just needs to be filling, and good food. Help please!

We go to lunch at Crystal Palace on every trip. We really like it there! Since it is a buffet, it can definitely be as filling as you want it to be. We have been happy with the food there. We haven't done lunch at LTT, but I've heard it is good. Our last trip we wound up having dinner at Tony's on our first night there because it was the only ADR we could get by the time I booked our flights and realized we would be there in time for dinner. I had not heard very good things about it and was a little leery about it, but we were pleasantly surprised. Sure, it is about the quality of an Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill, but I don't really mind those places.

We ate at Tony's last time and were very disappointed. (And we LOVE the Olive Garden!) Hence the hesitation this time!

We really enjoy dinner at CP - can't imagine that lunch is that much different. That said, I will second CRFan's LTT recommendation for lunch. The pot roast is OMG good - and I, as a rule, don't like pot roast! :)

Also, while dinner at LTT is family style, lunch is a regular menu-type place.

I like both CP and LTT. I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. We really loved the food at CP, so I don't know if it's really worth switching. It was great and such a wonderful atmosphere. Having said that, we went to LTT for the first time last trip and loved it as well.

We love the CP lunch. We done it a couple of times and I have 3 adrs for upcoming trip in 2 weeks. I can't wait!!!! I think the variety and quality have always been good. Of course we love Pooh and friends also.

I love LTT- It's nice to be able to sit down after a long day at MK and be served. They bring you more if you run out- so it's kinda like a buffet but seated. The bad part is the restrooms are upstairs, but that's really the only downfalla s far as I can see.

We enjoyed CP too. But, like I said, it's nice to sit and stay seated. CP has a lot of choices for picky eaters, the characters are a plus. Downside- was so service on refilling drinks etc.

You will have a great time no matter which you pick!;)

I thought the family style ("refills"), fixed menu was only at dinner?

I'm pretty sure lunch is just a 'normal' TS, at least it was when we were there last (though it has been a while, so maybe things changed?). I remember it was pretty good though!

We love CP, have eaten lunch there several times and have always had a pleasant experience. We will be dining there for dinner on our upcoming trip for the first time.

Also like LTT. Have never dined there for lunch, only dinner but it was very good. I also think either choice would be good.

The best lunch is the MK is at the Plaza - it is oftem overlooked but they have great food. I have tried LTT, CP, Tonys and the Plaza is the best.

Another great option if you are willing to leave the park is WCC. The boat ride from the MK to teh WL is very relaxing and the food is wonderful. Better than any food you will find at the MK.

We prefer Liberty Tree Tavern. Be prepared to have you name and State your from announced when you enter the dinning room.

we like tony's.... but we LOVE Liberty Tree Tavern. it's our first meal planned off the plane. we need tavern fried cheese in our life :)

Another vote for Liberty Tree; the food there for lunch is superb.
We tried the Plaza on our last trip and found it not to be worth using a
TS credit for. It's just a sandwich shop, with ice cream desserts. The food was just okay; nothing special.

DITTO THE PLAZA!!! (and jeannette is the best server on property! she's been there 20+ years and is awesome!)

also, LTT is menu TS at lunch, AYCTE/Family Style at dinner...

We've eaten at all of the MK restaurants.

Crystal Palace -- we only do for breakfast

Tony's -- have done lunch and dinner, prefer lunch (better service, smaller portions)

Liberty Tavern -- have done lunch and enjoyed

Plaza -- this is our MUST DO lunch on our last day before we head to the beach or head home.

I would pick The Plaza.

The Plaza has a great BLT -it is huge and yummy. Not a typical sandwich.

I agree! We've had everything on the menu between DH and I and the BLT is my favorite and the reuben is his. :) And they have the best french fries in all of Disney.

We found lunch at the Crystal Palace to be completely chaotic. The characters were fun but getting any food required a hefty wait in the chow line, which was a bit difficult while wrangling a 3 year old.

We really enjoyed the Plaza Restaurant. It's a great place to get out of the heat & have a nice homestyle lunch (tomato soup, grilled cheese, burgers, salad, etc.).

I think we'll give LTT a try in November; I keep reading great reviews.

Another vote for the Plaza! It isn't the best use of a TS credit. We usually pay OOP for it even if we're on the dining plan and then we use the TS credit somewhere else.
