Where do you think it's the best place for A) ceremony and B) reception, for a Mad Hatter theme?

UK gardens for ceremony?
Seabreeze pointe?

Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions welcome!

I would say reception - I am doing a tea party for my bridemaids so that is an option as well. My ceremony is not going to be themed in any way - but my reception is at Ariel's and I am doing the coral and shells cake and doing shells on the table-- But you could incorporate bright floral at your ceremony and it would be beautiful- and the do the Mad Hatter Cake at the reception. The Rose Garden at UK would be a great place for that, I would think, but that is just me- Best wishes!!!

alice, what a cute name you have!

I like the idea of the ceremony at UK garden, but I don't know an epcot location that lends itself to the theme for the reception. It doesn't seem very "living seas", does it?

You could go to Boardwalk or BC and have a ballroom reception- Depending on your numbers there are some rooms at BWI that have patios, and that would be fun. I would not say that Living Seas would be great w/ Mad Hatter, but you can do whatever you want. Or just do a mad hatter style cake-

Thanks- when I was a baby my neighbor's daughter was 3 yrs older than me, my name being Allison, she called me Allisonwonderland, so that is where I got that - as she mistook Alice in for Allison.

What a gr8 theme :)

How about the Boardwalk Gardens for the reception. Ive seen pics of ppl have a Mad Hatters Tea Party here, plus on the old DFTW site there was a couple who had this venue for their outside reception

I absolutely love this open space in POFQ its amazing... I am not on my house computer I have the picture so I will send you it when I get back home.... :surfweb:

We had a Mad Hatter Tea Party themed reception inside the Wonders Lounge in the Wonders of Life Pavillion in Epcot. It's PERFECT because it has a circus theme, with lots of bright red. Check out yourfairytale they have a Wonders page on their site (since this is my first post it won't let me post the address, but I promise it's there, go to Disney Wedding Basics, then ceremony & reception locations, then reception locations in Epcot) to get an idea. We added bright colored overlays to the standard white tablecloths & alternating bright colored cloth napkins, and painted teapots bright colors which we shipped to Disney floral ahead of time for them to fill with flowers (including birds of paradise because I think they're the most fun). There's even some screens in the wall as you enter that we had Alice in Wonderland playing as everyone walked in. We had 3 characters & the Mad Hatter cake & I couldn't have been happier with the results! Our ceremony was in Italy in Epcot, it was wonderful because Spaceship Earth was directly behind us in all of our pictures. Good luck deciding!

How wonderful this sounds, Teresa :goodvibes What time was your ceremony and your reception? I would love to see pictures

Hi Susy,

What a cute theme idea! You always have the coolest events.

I think the ceremony would be perfect at the UK gazebo. Seabreeze Point is lovely but less private. I just love the park-like atmosphere they have at the UK gazebo. I always wanted to do our VR there but I was overruled.

For the reception, I think either the Whitehall Patio at the GF (my first choice) or the St. James Room & Patio at the Boardwalk. Both of those places seem like they are tailor-made for a Mad Hatter tea party.

How exciting, have fun planning!

To everyone for all the great ideas!

I'm thinking UK garden or Italy for ceremony and then Wonders of Life or Boardwalk for reception??

Called a week ago to set my date, just waiting for FTW to call me back!

Jonni!!! How are you? Did you see the thread about the DM here on DIS?

I want to do Epcot to do something NEW this year. :)

Teresa - I would LOVE to see you pictures, if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks again to all for great suggestions!

Pixie dust,

Sust

I should have said, I'm only ruling out the GF 'cuz we want someplace we haven't been before.

:goodvibes
