Planning a laid back day for our second day with Playhouse Disney #1 on our list. What's your favorite place for lunch at MGM?

Sit-down or counter service? How old are your children?

We like Brown Derby for lunch & our DS4 liked it also. We have also eaten at Prime Time but not with our kids. We did notice that when we ate at quieter places for lunch it was a great way to mellow out our DS. then we enjoyed the afternoon parades better.

We like Toy Story Pizza Planet. They have pizza and salads. Both are good.

Our favorites are Mama Melrose and Brown Derby.

We like Backlot Express for counter service and 50's Prime Time for table service.

We like the 50's Prime Time.... Loved the way the waitstaff acted their parts from the 50's and the menu...

Sci Fi for lunch with the kids. They love it and the burgers are really good. We also love Hollywood Brown Derby for a relaxing (a bit more formal) lunch.

I like the area around Rosie's All American Cafe ecause there are so many options. Plus, I like the outdoor seating. I've only eaten at the Brown Derby and the Sci-Fi Diner for sit-down meals. I didn't like the Sci-Fi's food and the Brown Derby might be too much for a squirmy 4 year old.

Not sure what your travel dates are, but keep in mind that the 50s Prime Time will be closed Jan. 17th to the 31th.

We love the Sci-Fi and Our kids really enjoy it.
I think my DS 3 likes the fact that we sit in cars.

With a 4 yr. old, you might want to try Sci-Fi or 50's Prime Time Diner. Both have atmosphere that will keep the little one entertained. Sci-Fi - get burgers & shakes (very good), 50's - get fried chicken, best in WDW.

I say Sci Fi or Prime Time, but if you could only do one I would do Sci FI. The burgers and onion rings are great!

I'd go for 50's Prime Time, with Pizza Planet as a counter service back-up.

Just a note on Pizza Planet. We eat there every time we come to MGM Studios and every time it is REALLY busy. There isn't much seating so we stood and waited for someone to leave their table before ordering. As I was standing in line to order, I heard somebody say "we're going to sit upstairs it's less busy". I didn't see where the stairs are but apparently there is seating up above the arcade? Anybody know for sure?

I remember seating upstairs when we were there in '98. We ate at Sci Fi for lunch and went to Pizza Planet for dinner. Pizza was a lot better. Sci Fi was overpriced and the service wasn't very good.

Yep there's definitely upstairs seating cause we ate up there last year. The stairs are right behind you as you are standing in line for food as I recall..
