Best place for iPod nano?

Dd wants an iPod nano and I'm helping her search for a bargain. I noticed that Toys 'R' Us has a free $10 gift card with a purchase. Is there anything better out there?

How old is your DD? We didn't want to spend a small fortune on a Nano for our 10-year old, only to have her lose it or break it. So we bought her a refurbished one, complete with warranty! It was CHEAP!!!

You don't see too many deals on the iPods. The Apple store http://www.store.apple.com has refurbished third generations pretty cheap - $79 for a 4 GB and $99 for an 8 GB.

I just bought two of the refurbished 8GBs for $99 each and they are just like new. I had just bought a 3rd generation Nano at full price not two weeks before (long story, it involved either buying the new one or killing the kid), then discovered the refurbs after the 4th gens came out. I replaced my 1st gen and bought younger DD a refurbs well, she had been sharing my old one. These also play video, whereas our old ones didn't.

My 2nd Gen. Nano just died - after only a year of use. It plays music, but the screen went white. The warranty was up in late August! I'm not too thrilled with Apple right now..

Well. that's not as bad as having a 13YO leave hers in her Birkenstock and having the dog chew the screen up! Even if it wasn't out of warranty (in June) Idon't think that would becovered!

FYI, you cannot use the $10 off on an iPod. There are a lot of restrictions on the bad. Ticks me off because I wanted to use them on DS Lites.

Toys R Us is having a deal where if you spend $149 or more on an apple ipod you get a $25 itunes gift card with it. It is in-store only and of course, they never have them in stock. I complained about it to the manager and she said they "fly" off the shelves, but I was there the day before the promo. started and they had the same stock, and haven't had a shipment since so I really can't stand the way TRUS does business.

If you don't mind refurbished, overstock.com has good prices. I bought one for my sister as a gift, and it was repackaged so well that you couldn't tell it was refurbished. Looked and worked like new.

I bought a Ipod touch at toys rus . I did recieve a 25 dollar i tunes card and I also recd a 10 dillar gift card to toys r us. The 10 dollar gift card was for any ipod purchase over 99$.

DH bought a Nano a few weeks ago at Target. It's the old style, but it was $99 and came with a $15 Itunes card. I'm pretty sure it was a 4gb, but I'd have to ask him.

The newest nano 8 gig (I don't know what Gen.) is $139 at Costco. That's $10 off regular price and costo has a great return policy.

I went to Target to look for this deal and they were all sold out, but they have the deal on-line too. It was for a 3rd gereration.
