Where would we find the best (and possibly also biggest) ice creams at DL? DD will turn 4 while at DL and has said that all she wants is to go swimming and have an ice cream on her birthday. Something special would be nice
One of our favorites is to get an ice cream sandwich on Main Street - the cookies are huge, and usually hot from the oven. They had make them in front of you - they are HUGE. The ice cream gets melty and they are very yummy. If you are facing the castle, it is down the alley on your right side. It's just a window service place and unfortunately is not open all the time.
Another favorite is the Gibson Girl ice cream parlor on Main Street. They have a fun flavor there called Fantasia - it's banana, pistachio and cherry (I'm pretty sure that's correct) all mixed together - sounds odd but it's very good. Kids especially like it.

Fantasia is my fave. Correct me if im wrong, but they dont sell Fantasia anymore. Something about the distributor stopped making it. I think it was actually discussed here before.
Another option for ice cream is Haggen Dass at DTD.
I'd choose the Gibson Girl ice cream parlour on Main Street....it is one of my favourite places in DL! It actually looks like an old fashioned ice cream parlour and has a terrific selection of ice cream and sundaes. Buurrbank Ice Cream Parlour in DCA has as much selection, but not as much atmosphere (IMO). I don't know if your daughter would care about that but mine would have when she was that age.
The waffle sundaes at Gibson girl are huge and very tasty. My daughter enjoyed one (or at least some of it) during her birthday trip. When they found out it was her birthday they gave her extra cherries on top. Also, Haagan Daaz in DTD has some pretty large ice cream concoctions.
I have never had it, but if you want the ultimate sundae maybe The Whole PCH Grill & Kitchen Sink - $21.99 at the Paradise Pier Hotel would be fun for a birthday.
I love the Steamin' Chocolate at BrrrBank Ice Cream
It is vanilla ice cream, brownies, hot fudge sauce, nuts, whipped cream with a cherry on top in a waffle cone. mmmmmmmm. Big enough for two to share too.
I like the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor on Disneyland's Main Street the best, becuase they make the waffle cones & waffle bowls fresh everyday. While Brrrbank at DCA and Hagen Daas at DD are good, there cones just aren't the same. It is a tradition that I get at least one ice cream from Gibson Girl, and I try to also get a dole pineapple whip each trip as well.
We had lovely ice cream at California Adventure, I'm terrible remembering the names of places, but its just as you go in on the right hand side and it looks like a train!!!
I'm not an ice cream eater but it was lovely here and I'll be heading there again this year!!!

The sweetpea and I were at DCA earlier and we split a waffle cone from B-b-b-u-u-r-r-bank Ice Cream. It was soooo yummy. And I dont normally have ice cream. It just looked good so I had to have a "few" bites. It was delicous. But $5 for an ice cream cone? yikes!
The best place for ice cream was in Hollywood at the Disney Studio Store. They had Cinderella Swirl and my mom and I wish we could have it shipped to us. It was THE BEST ice cream EVER!!! If you have a car, try to make it there. It is across from the Kodak Theatre.
