I am travelling to Disneyland with friends in late January. For the first part of the trip we are staying in a friend's condo. However, their flight out leaves a day before mine does, so I am thinking it might be nice to stay near the park so I could play for a few more hours before flying home at dark-thirty the next morning.

Any suggestions as to the safest place to stay that can also get me to the airport the next morning?

I feel any of the places right around the park are fine. There are always lots of park goes walking to and from the parks. When I go solo, I follow in with a family group in the evening when returning to the hotel.

Here is a link to an OLD accommodation map. You can look up each hotel's website.
Desert Inn & Suites generally has low rates the farther out you book.

If you're lookin for something simple,,I would choose the Alpine Inn. But that's just me.

I would stay anywhere along Harbor for convenience. BWPPI is directly across the street. I have never felt unsafe walking as there are usually plenty of park go-ers. If I were solo, I'd get behind a group of people and just stick with them for walking back in the evening. I don't believe any of the hotels have shuttles to the airport, but we easily used Uber. For one trip where we needed to leave by like 4:45 am, we pre-scheduled Uber the evening before.

We were unable to find a hotel within walking distance of Disneyland that had an airport shuttle. We used Lyft and it was super convenient. I agree with the prior posts, if you stay right on Harbor Blvd you will be safe if you are walking with others. Definitely use the map because some of the hotels give the distance from the park and not the "entrance to the park". BWPPI and Park Vue are the closest. Candy Cane Inn is walkable, and also has a shuttle if that would make you feel safer at night.

BWPPI because of location. No airport shuttles in the area, Anaheim is too far from LAX to justify an airport shuttle for any nearby hotels. We Ubered, it was about $45.

Google hotels near Disneyland and look for the ones on Harbor directly across from the resort entrance. Look for the Best Western Park Place Inn which is directly across the street. The ones nearby, like the Desert Inn, Park Vue and Tropicana Inn should all be good for a nights stay and are a 5 minute walk to the park gates. I would just pick the one that I could get the best rate, since it sounds like you just need a place to sleep (not a waterpark, etc.).

P.S. Some also include breakfast, so if that is important you might want to factor that in too.
