So im finally going to book up a Character Meal for our September trip.

My dgf is a veggie and so I need to take this into account but I just don't know which one to go to.

I've read the reviews, and looked at the menus but am still finding it hard as everyone says they're all great.

Im on a budget and so am looking at either

Cafe Mickey which is about 18 euros for a pizza

Lucky Nugget which is 30 euros for a buffet

or Plaza Gardens Character Tea Party which is 12 euros

If you had to choose one, which would it be and why, come on fellow DISer's I need you! :dance3:

I had an enjoyable lunch at cafe Mickey, but I haven't tried the others. There seemed to be a reasonable number of salads etc at Cafe Mickey, so it should be fairly good for a for your GF.

Another option that might be worth looking at would be the tea party. It's held at the Plaza gardens at about 3:30 or 5:00 and (from what I've seen / read etc) is basically lots of cakes, with a few savouries of various kinds. It's also the cheapest character meal available and seems to be highly recommended.

I voted Cafe Mickey, been here twice and had great character interaction.

I've been to all three but the best has to be Cafe Mickey.

What a great poll. I was going to post something similar. Hope it comes up with Cafe Mickey as that is where I have pre-booked

The cake pics look fab :thumbsup2

If plaza dosen't top the poll then i'd consider going here for tea too on another day as the cost seems reasonable for this.

My vote is for Cafe Mickey - we always have lunch there on our last day!!! Fantastic!

I would recommend Inventions for the best character meal. But for a Vegetarian, Cafe Mickey is probably your second best hope.

I didn't realise the character interaction at Plaza was for the Tea Party only and not the Buffet.

Therefore to be clear the poll options reflects the tea party.

I did like the look of Inventions, it did seem to cost a lot though which put me off. I also couldn't find any veggie dishes? :confused3

LOVED CM!

I think maybe we had an off-day at Lucky Nugget, but food wasn;t great and only got to meet one character even though we were sitting very near the front.

Agreed, although for somebody on a budget, it's not such a good choice due to the high price. The choice is by really good though, as is the food quality.

If money wasn't an issue, this would be my recommendation. As it is, I think cafe Mickey is the best option, as it's a really good meal at quite a bit less than Inventions.

I will have to vote for Cafe Mickey................seems like a very popular choice

so Cafe Mickey looks like the way to go then at the moment, wasn't expecting it to be so one sided, especially after such a short time!

My vote is for Cafe Mickey as well, we ate there last week as well as the Lucky Nugget. We enjoyed the food at both (although the fish and chips at Cafe Mickey are to die for!) and the character interaction was probably about the same but with no Mickey or Minnie (although there seemed to be more children chasing the characters at the Lucky Nugget, characters did ignore them though for the majority of the time).
Off the top of my head at Cafe Mickey we saw:
Mickey, Minnie, Gepetto, Friar Tuck, Tigger, Eeyore (first time ever!) Goofy.

At Lucky Nugget:

Tigger, Goofy, Pluto, the bad guy from Robin Hood (can't remember his name), Eeyore and King John.
