the mackey family

A couple questions...

Boy or Girl?
Favorite characters (are you looking for a character meal or a regular restuarant?)
Would you prefer to be at a resort or in one of the parks?

There are lots of great options - just need to narrow down your preferences. :)

If a girl, I would suggest CRT or 1900 Park Fare.
A Boy, maybe Chef Mickey?:confused3

We're doing Chef Mickey's for our DD's b-day when we go. We picked there because it was our kids favorite restaurant on our last trip and they supposedly do a great job with kids birthdays. I know they get a special placemat and they decorate the table. She is a princess girl but this was her favorite restaurant so we went with that.

My DS will be turning 8 this year while at WDW too.:bday: I heard that Garden Grill was a great place celebrate so I made ADRs for his June b-day.party: We did CM last year and it was great.:thumbsup2 We wanted to go somewhere different this year. Hope you have a great time!:wave2:

We just returned from a weeklong birthday celebration for my dd who turned 5 while we were there. We did several character meals, and the 2 that I think would be the most fun for a birthday are the 1900 Park Fare Cinderella dinner and Chef Mickey's. At each, we were given a birthday placemat signed by the characters. 1900 Park Fare also gave DD a birthday tiara. Chef Mickey's brought out a cupcake with a candle for DD and Donald came over to help her blow it out! The 1900 Park Fare dinner was on her actual bday, so I pre-ordered a 6 inch cake. The entire resaurant sang to DD, and one of the mice came over to see her for a hug at that moment. It was a really special meal. I'm sure 1900 Park Fare would have given her a cupcake if I had not previously ordered the cake, BTW.

Here are some picts.

Yes - just call and have them attach a note to your ADR. And quietly confirm it when you check in at the podium.

We celebrated DD's 4th birthday at 1900 PF. We ordered a cake and DD got a tiara put on her by Cinderella. Cinderella was there when we sang and blew out the candles. It was very nice.

We'll be in WDW on my DD's b-day this summer.
We're having breakfast at CRT & dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
Can't wait!!

My son celebrated his 9th birthday at Garden Grill last July. It was wonderful. LOTS of character interaction from Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. Instead of just coming by once and signing autographs, they kept sneaking up on us and playing. If you haven't been there, the restaurant revolves (nothing dramatic-one complete rotation every hour). You get to see the back side of the Land ride. The booths are very private-can't see other diners at all. We noted his birthday on the reservation. We didn't order a cake, but got one instead of the regular dessert. The cake (delicious) and a card were delivered by Dale. It was big enough for 4 to have a piece that night, and we ate the rest for breakfast the next morning.

Don't forget Birthday pins and the Goofy birthday call!

We just celebrated DD's 8th b-day at Crystal Palace and she LOVED it. The food was good, characters were fun, and she enjoyed the atmosphere. They gave her a card signed by Pooh and friends, and brought us a cake (not free - about $12). I would advise, however to skip the cake. They have many wonderful desserts, they will bring a free cupcake for birthdays. NONE of our party of 7 (3 kids) wanted any cake, so it was a waste except for blowing out the candles. If you want a cake, you might check into ordering one from the many bakeries and having it in your room later. This is our 3rd birthday cake to order and NOT eat at WDW - we are over it now. My DD would have been fine with the cupcake and a snack of her choice some time later when she was hungry again!
