OK, I'm in the minority but I didn't care for Giordanos pizza. Are there any other pizza outlets nearby?

Well then I am in the minority too! I hate Giordanos. We have given them several chances and frankly I do not understand why people think they are so great. However, I come from the Northeast and we have TONs of fanstastic pizza places so I am spoiled. In looking at the replies so far (Idid not read the whole thread) I realize not too many from NE are ranking Giordanos the best. There is another small chain in Orlando "Flippers" they are pretty good but not great.

Haha....well there's the whole NY pizza vs Chicago pizza thing...people from NY like thin, greasy pizza on crust that's like cardboard...Chicago is famous for deep dish thick pizza. New Yorkers swear it's the best anywhere...when I was in Times Square they took me out for some of this stuff, can't say I cared for it...but they also swear it's good due to the water they use!

It's just a matter of preference, I think there's a place called Cici's and a NY pizza place in the area as well, different things for different folks I guess!

The premise of Chicago pizza sounds great but each time I have an UNO or Girodanos all I can taste is cheap cheese and salt. I think if the deep dish pizza was made well it would be delicious. I just have not found one that tastes good. As to CiCis we go there once in a while for a "belly stuffer" their pizza is not what anyone would term as great just filling. My kids used to love the fact that they could have all they wanted. But then again Pizza Hut does that too.

I LOVE Giordanos....one more thing to look forward to for our October trip!! :)

Subscribing! I am from NY (central:cold: , not the city) but have lived in Maryland for 12 years. We don't have anything even closely resembling a good pizza here, thin crust, deep dish or otherwise! We're planning a trip for Halloween week, so I'll keep my eye on this post.:)

I had a pizza from Giordano's just 9 days ago during a short solo trip. The place was packed on a weekend night so I ordered a small pizza to go.

Giordano's deep dish pizza is good, but not for everyone. They actually call it "stuffed pizza" and it is layer upon layer of cheese. I prefer Giordano's to Uno, but my pizza last week was only okay. They make a thin crust pizza too, but I've never tried it.

I wish they had a branch of Gino's East in Orlando--another famous Chicago pizzeria. In my limited experience with Chicago pizza, Gino's East has been my favorite so far. I have yet to try Lou Malnati's though and that place has many fans.

Back OT, here is a link to Giordano's Florida-specific website with menu and contact info.

Gino's East is awesome...yumm....I like Lou's too but Gino's is one of my top favorites! I've heard they put beer in the crust as a secret ingredient.

Not Orlando places but a comment on the no good pizza in central NY:
I thought Cicero Country Pizza was very good.
And my friend's mother works at Varsity down by SU which is also pretty good.

do you have the directions from WH to the giordano's pizza when I am at the light at 192 where there is the outback where do you go? will be there march 8
thanks
maria

Outback and Giordano's are in the same parking lot/mini mall. When you pull into the back entrance by Outback instead of parking, go to the left behind the stores and Giordano's is on your right

JMHO but we have been here 3 years and haven't found good pizza, cheesesteaks or chinese food. Some are ok but nothing that I would say YOU HAVE TO GO THERE!

Another vote for Flippers. Love the Old Town location where you can sit on the patio and watch the bungee jumpers! Tried Papa John's and did not think it was anything special at all. :confused3

We were there in Dec. and tried Giordano's and I really wasn't impressed either. But the Chinese place in the same plaza was awesome. We got Chinese twice during our 8 day trip.

Giordano's is the first night treat and the last night goodbye pizza. I usually buy a pizza the last night and eat it while driving northbound back to KY. I am craving Giordano's while at the computer but will not get to eat it until our October visit.

I don't get the raves about New York Style Pizza. We bought one while in New York last year and actually threw half of it away as nobody in the party would eat it. Even a Papa Johns Pizza has a life of about an hour around here.

If I had to eat Cici's while on vacation, I think it would be better off staying home.

We like Bruno's and they deliver. They are on 192 near the Howard Johnson's across the street from Beef OBrady's, Subway and Dominoes.

Oh I love Giordano's! So good:goodvibes I had it two years ago in Chicago and loved it! I am staying at WH for our first family Disney trip in June and will definetly be going to Giordano's. Now I am even more excited about going lol.
