Best Pixie Dust ever!

Hands down it was being upgraded to a Junior Suite at Coronado Springs when we paid for a regular room. Imagine our surprise when we walked into the room and found out it was 2 rooms connected with a big sofa, easy chair and coffee table in one room and the other room contained a king size bed. The funny thing is they never told us they were doing it and we just enjoyed the stay.

Oh wow...how fun!...that's just wonderful!!! :goodvibes

How much fun, would love to see the photos, of dolly have a great time. :thumbsup2

The Disney model is VERY much based on customer feedback. Positive feedback, especially with specifics like names, dates, and details, can go a LONG way towards guiding policy. It isn't just about rewards that specific CM, but it is also the most direct and effective way of telling Disney management what direction to take. There are bean counters at WDW that most definitely say that stripping away CMs powers to do this (as WDW just lost $$ for the toy, stroller, and CM time) is the way to go. There are also folks who know that pixie dust, while somewhat intangible, yields far greater monetary rewards down the road. Giving feedback and saying YOU WIL RETURN incentivizes the latter folks to win over the cost cutters!

My company is adopting a lot of these techniques. The hardest part of it is getting patients to GIVE FEEDBACK. The return rate on our surveys is so low it is embarassing.

ITA! PLEASE contact WDW and express in writing your gratitude...heck, just copy what you wrote here in your first post, the emotion is sincere and honestly, it is this type of *magic* that no one wants to see disappear with all the other changes that are inevitable. Glad you had a wonderful, magical :wizard: trip!

On arrival at POR we had already had bad morning (low leaking tire, almost flat, barely made it to station for air) after having our DD get locked in bathroom in DTD hotel for 30 min night before. We were almost running late for CRT breakfast for DD & DW. Our DD had also just gotten a new doll that she was really attached to. We had taken it all over Legoland the day before. The only way we could get her to leave it was to say that they would would watch it. So we quickly went to baggage and asked if they would watch it for us. Janelle quickly took the doll and said they would take good care of it. So we finally got to parks and started the day. About 2 or 3 when room was ready we went back to unpack. My wife went by baggage to get doll. When she arrived the doll was sitting in a brand new princess stroller, with a Piglet toy, 1st visit pin, and autograph book. In the autograph book there were autographs from lots of characters and pictures where the staff had taken the doll all over the resort. There were pictures of the doll in the food court, in a golf cart with CM's, at the pool, at the bridge over the river, in the gift shop, and with lots of the staff.
All my DD could talk about the rest of the trip was all the things her doll had gotten to do that day. Everytime we left the room after that she made a pretend call to arrange for babysitting for the doll. The staff was sooooooooo nice to do this. They saved the day for us but also went way beyond the call of duty. It was one of the highlights of the trip and really one of the highlights of all of our trips. This just reaffirms to us again why we love WDW. Thanks again to Janelle and all of the staff at POR for a wonderful memory for me and my family!

amazing ...this is what I remember of disney cms from years ago..
.I hope you'll consider taking the time to write a note of thanks for the staff's amazing thoughtfulness, directly to Disney ....
it took one/several wonderful cms to take the time and creativity to forever make an Imprint/Memory to last a LIFEtime and then your excitement to SHARE it with all of us. Thanks for sharing your story....made my day ...:dance3: Only at Disney!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you so much for sharing! What a special experience for your little one!

THIS is why I love Disney so much and why I recommend it to anyone who asks. These are the types of things I tell about when people ask me why we keep going back. Not the housekeeping, not the food, not the busing ... this stuff is what keeps us coming back.

I agree, and I'm certain it would be appreciated.

The General Manager at Port Orleans has worked for Disney for more than 35 years, and in her time there has been General Manager at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, and later VP of Animal Kingdom - so she certainly knows how important cast members are to the company and to the guest experience, and I'm sure she would love to hear this story. In fact, I hope you don't mind, but I've taken the liberty of ensuring that she does hear about it...

I love this story so much! I linked it to my FB wall, my friends struggle to understand why we go back year after year, for going other vacations. This is the kind of stuff that makes us go back! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
