Best Pie?

Hi everyone! We are heading to Disney World in June. Our family almost always prefers pie over cake. So, please share your favorite pies of the World! Where should we go and what should we order?

You might find a tart (single serving) at a theme park bakery, but I don't recall ever seeing an actual pie that was cut into slices. Same for cake - it's usually in a round individual serving container, not an actual cake that was cut into slices. However, I should say that I do not order dessert at table service restaurants, so maybe there are pies (and cakes) at those places.

Here's a start for ya! I typed the words "disneyworld pie" into a google search. DFB is a reliable source. I've never tried the mango pie at Yak&Yeti, but I really want to. My problem is that Tamu Tamu has Dole Whips, soo....

I have been really thinking about this and I am stumped! I don't really recall any regular type pie at Disney World.
Hollywood and Vine serves pie for dessert, but it is not like regular pie. I have also had Pie in a Jar type desserts that were good, but again not exactly regular pie. (I think these were at Kona Cafe)
I have heard of Mango Pie at Yak n Yeti, but haven't tried it myself.

I am not really a cake person either, but the Homecomin’ Cake at Homecomin’ is pretty amazing, in case you can't find pie.

I'm just chiming in because "best pie" is my favorite question on this forum in a long time! I love pie!! That being said, I can't say I have a suggestion, I can't think of any pies at Disney.

Is a key lime pie an actual pie? To me a pie has to be enclosed in pastry (shortcrust, puff, filo) top and bottom. If it is enclosed in suet or made with suet, then it’s a pudding. If it has only pastry on the base and sides, it is a tart. Cake doesn’t have any pastry, so includes things like cheesecake because the base is made of crumbs rather than pastry.

Thanks for reminding me ...
Tippinspies.com for online deliveryThe Tippins Restaurant in Kansas City area was so good and apparently they are still sold at local grocery stores and can be delivered ...
I guess we just missed National Pie Day in January....

It is a pie. Per Merriam Webster dictionary, a pie is "a dessert consisting of a filling (as of fruit or custard) in a pastry shell or topped with pastry or both"

Many pies do not have a pastry lid (or even a lattice). Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, basically ANY cream pie (coconut or banana cream, chocolate silk etc.).

Pie is my all time favorite dessert. I don't know of any others to contribute to the list but will be watching this thread for sure.

This thread is telling me Disney needs more pie. I love pie and have never had it at Disney. I am considering ordering the mango pie at Yak and yeti on our next trip. I recently read it was very tasty
