Best pedometer

I (the husband, here. :wave2: ) just picked up a FitBit Zip from Target. They run about $50 (I paid about $35 because of the color, check your local store) or so but are more than just a step counter. You can sync it with their website via a wireless dongle that comes in the package and use it to monitor your steps per day, activity level throughout the day, calories burned, food intake, water intake, and several other items.

You can also download an app for your smartphone to help you manage your data input and (depending on the phone and FitBit type) can possibly sync through your phone, too.

Sure, some of it is manual entry, but I've discovered that I am a lot more active on more days than I realized. Since I'm on my feet a lot at work, it was a surprise to us all to see exactly HOW much activity I put in.

check out my FitBit profile to get a basic idea of what the standard info that you can monitor is. I am not as solid on the food monitoring as I could be, but it *is* something that makes me pay closer attention to what I'm putting into my body. I fully think that this will be a big help in trying to lose weight.

I'm really happy with the FitBit.

I also have a fitbit and swear by it! We also purchased the scale. It is pricy but both have been great tools when it comes to tracking progress.

I am looking for a good quality pedometer. any suggestions?

I do not know where you can get a good pedimeter.

If you have a smart phone, there are apps for it. Runkeeper and Edmondo are two of the top of my head. They do not use data; they use satellite. Each site has a free app.

My company has a healthy living program and every employee got a Fitbit for the Holidays. Love mine. Will be wearing at WDW this fall. Coworker was there last week, most days he was at 25,000 steps.

For an excellent basic easy no work pedometer look into an omron on Amazon for just over $20. I have a friend who got a fitbit that she feels is just too much work to be bothered with. I guess it depends on how much you want to be bothered with recording etc?

Another vote for the fitbit! I got mine for Christmas and I wer it everyday. It really gives you an idea of how much you actually do during the course of the day. It tracks your steps, calories burned, miles walked and flights of stairs you do. It syncs to your smartphone and keeps track of your weight and your food too! I can't wait to use it at Disney in June! :cool1:

Fit bit! I dont always sync it to the phone/computer. Basically just clip it on and wear it.

Actually I often put it in my pocket. And sadly because of that it often goes through the washing machine.

Takes a lickin and keeps on ticking!

My sister got me an UP bracelet from Jawbone-not cheap but is wonderful. You can track your steps, sleep and even food intake. You sync it with your iphone or ipad or ipod. I like it because I don't have to worry about a clip on falling and I love seeing my sleep patterns. Good Luck.

I had the FitBit Ultra and have upgraded to the FitBit One. My husband has the One, also. This is great if you are looking to watch what you eat/lose weight. We pair ours with MyFitnessPal and MapMyWalk. Even while somewhat expensive, FitBit's customer service is excellent!

I have a fitbit one that I got for Christmas, and I love it!

I bought the Fitbit One in early March. We went to WDW over spring break..... It was amazing to see all the steps and mileage I racked up over that week long trip. One day I went over 12 miles!!! Well WE ALL DID really. Now we went pretty hard on most days.....and I got over 72 miles that week. I love my Fitbit!!

Here is the break down of my 7 park days:
3/21 12.37 miles
3/22 9.49
3/23 10.7
3/24 9.11
3/25 10.57
3/26 8.41
3/27 11.88
