Evening all!

What's the best pay as you go sim card i could pick up in florida at a walmart etc? Not so much for minutes, but international texts and data connection.

She doesn't know it yet, but DW is getting a new phone as a tenth anniversary pressie this friday, and it's an unlocked dual-sim one, so i can slip in an american sim when we get there :goodvibes

We bought this last month http://www.walmart.com/ip/T-Mobile-...gMethod=Recommendation:wm:RecentlyViewedItems

I then added $10 credit online to allow international texting & calls.

It costs $40 which includes your first months connection, unlimited texts, 100 mins of calls & unlimited internet(first 5GB @ 4G speed) Matt used it almost a full month and only used 0.5GB so doubt many people would go over the 5GB.

International texts are charged at 10 cents, there are so many options you need to read for yourself but I believe you can add on unlimited international texts for $7 for the month. Would work out cheaper if sending over 70 texts. http://www.t-mobile.com/optional-services/international-service.html

Check out other options but Matt had no problems with this last month.

I'll be looking into that, thanks Wayne!

I'm getting DW a purple Lenovo A820, and after we're back i'm ordering an A850 for me. For a tech family these are ideal - dual SIM slots, crazy good quad core processor, big screens (4.5" and 5.5" respectively) which are HD and IPS, the benchmark tests are more than double the performance of a galaxy s3.... and the phones are £130-£150 depending on exchange rate.

They be things of beauty lol

:goodvibes

I considered using again next month, just checked its still working only been downgraded to PAYG due to no funds being added, would only have to add $30 to turn it back into the original all in package but not sure I would use it that much, I will take it just incase.
I don't understand the T&C's, very complicated but I think it turns into PAYG after 60 days inactive (although ours has only been less than 30 days) then suspended after 90 days so doubt its much use for using year after year.

Can you tell us what size the SIM is, or is there the ability to get different sizes (eg micro for the iphone5). I do have a SIM cutter but using it is always a risk and I don't wanna holiday with it :D

If you look at the pic on Walmarts site it gives details of the one we bought, here is a direct link http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/61/02/14/63/0061021463234_500X500.jpg

It says Micro SIM which is what we wanted but they did ask us what size SIM we wanted as if they had other options(or they might have said they only do Micro if we had said another size, I don't know)

Staff in Walmart were great, put it in the phone and registered it for us, sorted out all the settings to make sure it worked before leaving the store.

Looks like there is a wallmart 7 mins drive away from my hotel that has a connections center which does all the mobile stuff so that will be my first stop. Thanks for the excellent help.. I love this website.. it has already made my holiday about 500 times better and I haven't even gone yet :D
