Best park when it rains?

I am somewhat flexible with our schedule. What parks do you think are best to visit if it is raining and why? We will have a stroller and are bringing a rain guard for it. Also, have a 2 year old in tow : )

Boy! That is a good question. I would have to say Epcot, the World Showcase section. There is alot to do indoors at each country (shopping and demonstrations). You will have some expossure to the elements as you move from country to country. Having said that, I'm not big on shopping, but most of these stores are rather fun to poke around in as they represent items from their respective countries (beer mugs in Germany, Kimono's in Japan). It's like being trapped in a big (and more interesting) Pier One!

I have to agree with going to EPCOT -- lots of things that are indoors

I agree EPCOT, or MK. MK has lots of connecting stores that you can use to get from place to place. Many of the attractions are inside.

We have been at AK in the rain and it was unpleasant. We did MGM for a few hours in the rain and we were pretty damp but went knowing we were only going to do a few rides that evening and leave.

Having just been to Epcot last Tuesday afternoon and evening in the rain.... yes, this is the best park and make sure you have your ponchos with you. Also, while my husband's, mine and DS's feet all stayed dry, my daughter's tennis shoes filled with water. They had little tiny air holes all over the top and all the water went in. She was very uncomfortable. I'll make sure she has the right kind of shoes next time. And take an extra poncho to cover a stroller. I noticed that the crowds did not lesson, they just became poncho-covered. And the cast members do an awesome job of dealing with parking and covering strollers at the restaurants, etc. We went in to Norway and did the Maelstrom for the first time (because of the rain) and we loved it.

LOL! I got stuck in the AK during a downpour and simply could not get out of the rain (nowhere to go!). I was wearing (a new -- never washed) tie dyed blue T shirt (Disney too). We were soaked! Needless to say I was "stained blue", and looked like one of those exotic alien women from the original Star Trek.

Everyone has their own opinions but I would say that Animal Kingdom is the best place to be simply because there's not many places to get in out of the rain. So, not many people go because they don't want to get wet. But if you have your rain gear and it's a reasonably warm day then go for it. I spent one of the best days there in the rain. NO CROWDS. And a front row seat for most of the shows. Be warned though. If it's really bad weather with wind and thunder there's a chance that they'll cancel some of the outdoor shows. But I'll never forget sitting in the very front row in the handicapped section (because there wasn't many people) to see the Festival of the Lion King two times in a row.

If you're ready for rain - ponchos, umbrellas, boots, etc - then any park will be much less crowded. Otherwise, I vote MGM (or is that DS now?). Most of it is inside and, unlike EPCOT, things are very close to each other.

We've been to AK twice in the rain (but we don't have any kids yet) and the animals are much more active in the rain. We told a CM about our observation and she agreed. The animals are more interesting in the rain. Our 2 best times in AK were in the rain.

Epcot except as noted for the distance between attractions, it is lightning this can be very scarey and even dangerous.

AK as stated will clear out and if its only rain and not lightning then you can manage with a poncho.

MGM is ok, except for outdoor theater things and it is smaller to navigate.

EPCOT for me. All rides(except TT) are inside. Everything stays open and makes it nice and shopping, shopping, shopping.

DisneyQuest, everything is indoors. Otherwise, MK, most lines are indoors as are the rides. It's easy to stay out of the rain, just get in line for POC, then go to the Tiki Room. Head over to SM, then BTMRR, Country Bear Jamboree. All around the park with no problems.

When I was a kid, my cousin's and I spent a rainy day playing hide and seek on Tom Sawyer Island, just being stupid.
