Hey all! I'm actually trailing along with my parents the last week in February (broke grad student, milking it for as long as I can) but I have an evening to myself while the parentals go see Cirque de Soleil. Is there a park that is better than others for a single? What restaurants do you like best solo? I was thinking of treating myself to a nice dinner out that night too if I can stretch the budget that far. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello neighbor,
I was just there solo in early Dec. Best park for me was Epcot. Second place goes to MK.

Well, I agree with the best as Epcot solo. But my choice for second best is AK. I'm probably biased though since I love AK-I get to stop and ask the CMs all the questions I want about the animals (dumb as some questions may be). One day I stood for about 1/2 hour while the CM was feeding birds, asking questions and just watching. For eating, there isn't any one place I can think of at dinner-time. I like Chefs de France, if you can get a table by the window. It's so much fun to watch all the tourists walk by. Just be aware, some of them must think it's one way glass because they'll come over and look through the window at you and your food!

I'm a solo traveler i like all the parks. it depends on what you like to see if you like animals you can go to animal kingdom. if you like classic disney i would go to the magic kingdom or go to epcot eat and drink around world show case. if you see me coming off souring crying it is because they have my hometown of San Diego ca. flying over the aircraft carrier is the seen. i will be there at the same time you are Feb 22 to march 3

Great thread! I will be solo (for the first time) one evening in June when my son and husband go golfing. I'm very excited about it, and can't decide which park to go to. I'm considering DHS because I love ToT and RR, and I'm the only thrill ride junkie in my family.

Good Choice - The Single Rider Line makes RnR a blast and saves a ton of time.

If you are talking after dinner, AK usually closes up.

For eating, Epcot gives you the most choices, plus it's a nice walk around the countries. You can sample food and beer in every country.

If it's a night that MK is open late, go there. Most of the little kids get taken home way before the park closes and you meet some nice people to chat up while on line (much shorter lines than during the day) and you can get on a lot more rides.

Wow! Thanks guys! I have been leaning towards MK or Epcot as they are my two favorite parks at night because of their firework shows. I wasn't even thinking of World Showcase to eat though - duh! I could eat at a country my parents can't stand like Mexico - I haven't eaten there in forever and it was so good last time! Thanks for all the suggestions!

Oh, man! I didn't know RnR had a single rider line. I was there solo (my first) 12/6-12/12 and decided to skip it not wanting to wait in line. ToT was almost a walk-on (did in twice in a row). I think TSM has drawn quite a few riders leaving ToT lines quite short.

Epcot hands down! Single rider line at Test Track so little waiting, VERY good chance of getting in a front row at Soarin if you ask nicely and there is an odd number, LOTS of International CMs to strike up convos with while walking around WS and just lots of stuff to do without being reminded all the time your doing WDW solo.

anytime i've gone solo, EP was always my favorite "alone" park - it's more spread out (especially WS) - and is filled with more shopping opportunities (with each country - more fun for me!) - i've really enjoyed being at EP alone during the F&W - grazing without sharing!

My favorite park is the Studios, but I also had a lot of fun soloing Epcot.

For me, it would be between Epcot & MGM for an evening. On one hand, Epcot has a tons of dining choices and IllumiNations. On the other hand, I love Brown Derby, and I've never ridden ToT at night. Tough call, but in the end I think it would depend on park hours that night.

In October I took my first solo trip and loved DHS! For the first time I sat and watched the street preformers.

I guess if I were you, I'd approach it this way: What are some things you would enjoy doing at Disney, but won't or can't do with your parents? That's where you want to go. Pretty much any of the parks except AK are great at night. Or the Boardwalk. Or maybe there's a good band playing at the House of Blues that night? So many choices. It's a good problem to have.

OMG, I can't believe I forgot about this. One day, I went to DHS, bought a snack and just sat and watched street performers for several hours. They were so much fun to watch!

A grad student in an Ann Arbor. You wouldn't happen to be at U of M, would ya ;) I went to school about an hour north of there, if ya know what I mean. :rolleyes1

But anyways I'm spending an evening alone thanks to my wondeful DH who asked if I wanted a little alone time at WDW (he'll stay at the resort with our boys that night). He golfs all summer, bowls in the winter etc and I never do anything on my own. I'm so excited. I'm off to read the rest of the replies now, but I'm leaning toward Epcot for myself. Soarin is at the top of my list. Dinner in the world showcase. Hmmm since I'll be taking a bus home...maybe drinking around the world.....

BTW go Green:thumbsup2
