Best Park in the Rain?

So if it looks like one of your park days will be a washout, which park would you pick for that day and why? (This is assuming you have one day for each park - so it would be your only chance to experience the park.) Thanks!

Hollywood Studios-- everything I am interested in there is inside. Even the roller coaster! :)

Lots of shows and indoor major attractions-- Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, Frozen Sing a Long, Toy Story Midway Mania, etc, all inside.

Since HS isn't a full day for me, I would rough it out in the rain there and then enjoy the rest of the day resort hopping and/or shopping.

This. You took the words out of my mouth. I can also tell you the answer is NOT animal kingdom. Unless you like waiting 2 hrs for Dinosaur...

I have worn my slicker & flip flops (which I have also taken off to walk thru the puddles) around Epcot on several rainy days. Test Track closes, but everything else keeps going. I kept going on the rides & inside the countries. Just have your rain gear to get you in between places. I like my plastic pull over poncho...when I get inside I pull it off inside out & ball it up so the dry side is facing out while I hold it.

HS is also another rainy day option for me. Again have the rain gear ready for getting between spots.

I find having the appropriate footwear for getting wet to be the most important. I tend to ditch my sneakers since they hold the water & opt for the flip flops cause I don't care if they get wet/dry quickly.

Without thunder/lightening, the water parks are amazing.

MK and DHS are also ok, with lots to do and shelter.

WS at Epcot would be my pick. You can wander in and out of the countries, snacking and looking. Beware though, no matter where you go, the crank the AC up inside everywhere so if you are wet you are going to be cold. I tend to carry an umbrella instead of poncho because I can't seem to get it off in time when I go inside and manage to get myself wetter than a toad frog.

DHS for sure. Relatively small park, with most attractions and queues indoors. It was easy to run between attractions without getting too wet. AK would be my last choice - the best attractions there are outdoors.

One more thought to support Hollywood Studios-- to me, it has the least desirable backgrounds for your family photos. Rainy day not a problem. Given a choice and flexibility, you don't want to miss out on great AK and MK photos of your trip.

For me, Magic Kingdom. I like to ride the wedway peoplemover, Space Mountain, or Carousel of Progress to wait out the storm.

NOT Animal Kingdom. My sister and I went there on a very rainy day and besides the rain coming down the trees drip all over you. Misery making.

I'm going to chime in for DHS for the reasons above: lots of indoor attractions, and the park doesn't feel as spread out for walking IMO. Plus you can probably hit whatever your real priorities are at DHS and then bail.

If it's off-and-on rain, there is something to be said for Epcot, where you can go into something like "The Seas" and ride Nemo, see Crush, hang out in the aquarium all in the same building while the rain passes.

Above all... DO NOT go to AK in the rain! I got caught in a downpour there this year and it was a mess. It's so outdoorsy - in Asia at least I could not find a place to get inside; people were packed like sardines under every overhang. Even when I was there the year before on an off-and-on drippy day, I bailed earlier than I intended because even the not-drenching rain was getting on my nerves (and I had spent the dripping-rain day before all day long at MK and been fine).

Right up there on my "DON'T" list with Don't do MK on a Saturday and Don't get involved with any buses going to or coming from DTD is Don't do AK in the rain.

Another vote for DHS! Other than the walkways, darn near the entire park is indoors. With light crowds it's a half-day park anyway. You can easily see most of the park before calling it a day in the early-mid afternoon.

I would've said HS but then remembered that a lot of what we like there is the outside shows. So I'd say Epcot

Yep, DHS. We did have a day with heavy rain earlier this month. We had planned on doing all 4 parks that day. We dropped that plan and headed to HS, even though it is our least favorite park in general and we'd been there 2 days before. But, when we sat down to see what we could get done and where it won with the most to do in the rain. Ended up having a good day but it was more crowded because most others realize it's a good park for rain too.

I am ok with visiting parks in the rain. I'm ok with rearranging my park days even after months of careful planning. I'm ok adding days to my park tickets despite the costs. I just want to be able to GET THERE and have a vacation. Our flights are scheduled for Monday morning from NYC. Starting to get secretly worried. So hard to just sit back and watch and wait.

I'm with you Andiraye....we are scheduled to fly out of Newark, NJ on Monday. Just sitting here and watching, waiting, biting my nails....a year's worth of planning...hope we can get there!
