We'll be at the park Tues 4/24-Fri 4/27. Our hotel has a private shuttle (Homewood Suites-Main Gate) and I am an AP with parking included. Adults only. We can be up and out the door whenever we need to be.

If we want the best chance to get to the gates at rope drop, what's our best option?
Use the hotel shuttle? (runs every 1/2 hr but not sure when it starts)
Park at Toy Story Lot?
Park at M&F Lot?

I've heard lots of difference answers as to when the lots open so just want my best chance to get there!
Thanks

From experience, the Toy Story lot opens an hour before the regular opening time. We were there for a 7 magic morning start time and that is when they opened the lot (for an 8 opening time). The lady there said "that's what the other lot is for".

We've taken a hotel shuttle from Embassy Suites before and got to rope drop with plenty of time to spare. You get on the very first shuttle. Most shuttles start an hour before the parks open. I would call your hotel to check the schedule so you can make a valid decision. Also if your planning to eat breakfast at the hotel that early expect a mob of people to be waiting before breakfast opens. We thought we were there early enough and weren't and were planning to make breakfast sandwiches for on the go and our plans barely worked out.

You want to be up early, and be the first on the first bus. Do not think you can leisurely show up and hop whatever bus. We stayed around the corner at the Marriott Springhill and it took forever on the bus. And then you will wait in line to get in.

Parking is way too expensive. Use the shuttle, walk to the parking lot, or walk to the park.

It's a fee per person. (can't remember how much but if it's easy and gets us there for rope drop, I'd pay it). I think we might try it the first day and see how it goes. We'll be there 4 days.

If you are willing to pay anyway, another option is Uber or Lyft. If you don't want to have them make the U-turn for the Harbor drop off, you can have them drop you off at one of the hotels or restaurants across from the DL entryway on Harbor. Then walk the rest of the way.

Take uber or lyft if you don't want the hassle of fighting your way on a bus that may come late. It's (little) money very wisely spent.
