I need to help to narrow down my ADR choices, and would like to know which one to drop?
I have 2 girls (4,2) it is their first time, and will be celebrating their birthdays. We arrive at 8.40 in the morning and plan to have our first meal with characters (hoping that it be a great start to our week in Disney with great food and awesome character interaction)

Chef Mickeys (very concerned about the food quality and poor character interaction)
Cape May Cafe (not enough breakfast selection, but I've read that character experience is good)
1900 Park Fare (not sure...no experience with reviews)

We leave on Sat early morning and hoping to get this sorted out prior so I would have my breakfast in order.

Thanks so much!
(Super excited!!!!)

I would say of your 3 options, 1900 PF.

If you're leaving Saturday, do you have an ADR already? What you can get an ADR for may be your limiter.

I think at that age it is all about the characters they recognize. When my youngest was 2 he was all about Tigger, so we did Crystal Palace. I think you need to make your pick based on the characters your girls will like the most.

Thank you, yes I do have an ADR at 11am, so it does work out perfect, we drive straight from the airport to GF.

my youngest LOVES Mickey and the oldest is all about her princesses and Minnie. They really do not know much about the characters at 1900PF, but I'm sure if I show them ahead and get them hyped, it may work.

We have a reservation at Tusker house for lunch on our AK day (Mickey and Minnie check!) just don't want a repeat character experience with CMickeys followed by THouse. Unless it is worth it. We also got a CRT dinner for my oldest lines up!

IMO, the food selections and quality at breakfasts are more similar than different amongst the buffets. They all have the standards with a few dishes that are unique to them, but not really enough differences to think any one is better than the other. What sets breakfasts apart are the locations and the character interactions. Of the 3 selected, we like 1900 PF for the characters and Cape May because it is much less chaotic than most character meals.

Minnie is not at Tusker House. You meet Donald outside and Mickey, Goofy and Daisy visit the tables. Minnie can be found at Cape May breakfast, Chef Mickey's and H&V Dinner.

I can speak for 1900. We had a really nice time there. We went about 7 years ago... but there are lots of face characters at the time we saw: Mary Poppins, Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Mad Hatter. It was relaxing and fun.(easy to get to)

Thanks for pointing this out! Now Im stuck with finding Minnie! 1900 seems to be the best fit according to responses, but Chef Mickeys has the fab 5. Any experience with Chef Mickeys? Nobody seems to be talking about this...Is it that bad??? We are paying OOP so it is a pretty penny, but if the experience is worth it, we will fork it out!

Crystal Palace is by far the best, but obviously too late to make that change now. We've eaten at Chef Mickey's twice and the food was good both times, though it's been many, many years.

The food at 1900 was very good, atmosphere was awful. Too many tables crammed into an interior room, very hectic, decor was very average as well. Cape May food was good, no atmosphere to speak of. It's been many many years, but we had a service/character issue there, so we never went back.

Chef Mickeys is something that should be done at least once I think, sort of like CRT. It's almost like a right of passage. But the price tag for OOP is just not worth it, IMO. I just can't justify paying $70+ for 2 adults for breakfast and fairly rushed character interactions. It's easier for me to justify adding an extra breakfast.

Could you add Cape May for breakfast on a different day? Maybe a DHS day? You know, for your Minnie fix?

Yes so perhaps I should keep chef mickeys to have the first time experience and it would a good start with the fab 5. But yup it's gonna be $102.21 for us before tip! I'm just soon second guessing CMickeys!!!
If I do keep 1900 for the first day, my only option for Minnie would be cape may, as we are not going to DHS this time. ( 2 days at MK with MVMCP, 1 day at AK, 2 days to relax) I've gotta look and see what I can come up with.

Minnie Sightings
H&V dinner
Chef Mickey
MBY BBQ

Adventurer's Outpost in AK
Pete's Silly Sideshow in MK
The Epcot Character Spot

Minnie is a priority for Cupcake. I made a list. :)

Ok so I. Just found a Cape Mays that would work for us... So this is the breakdown for character meals:

Cancel Chef Mickeys and sub for 1900 park fare (1st breakfast onsite)
CRT for dinner (2nd day)
Tusker House Lunch (3rd day)
Cape May breakfast (4th day) before park and party

Did I cover all the character I needed?

Park Fare gets my vote. It was our first character meal on this past trip and it was great.

1900 PF is a good choice and you'll get to see the gingerbread house at the GF. Also, you can check out the gingerbread display at Y&B when dining at Cape May Cafe.

I voted for 1900. It's really such a lovely experience. Lots of characters, wonderful interaction and good food.

I saw your list of ADR's. You do have Minnie covered now, but you may want to consider simply doing her meet and greet in AK and dropping the ADR. I find Cape May's food to be underwhelming and that's a lot of time and money invested to see Minnie at breakfast when you could simply meet her on your AK day.

This is true, and yes I will def crave out time to visit Minnie at AK. Think that is the best option.
I think I'm gonna go with 1900 and def cancel out chef mickeys and Caoe May respectively.

I must have had some pixie dust today, as I scored both a breakfast and dinner at 'Ohana. Are character present for dinner too? Or just breakfast?

IMHO, I think CM is totally over rated & over priced. The last time we went was the last time as the food consistently left a lot to be desired as did the "rushed" character interaction.

As frequent Disney Diners our favorite character breakfasts are CMC & 1900 PK FARE. If you're looking for Minnie she is at CMC as are Goofy & Donald. They are fun at this breakfast and the breakfast itself is pretty good. We love 1900 PK FARE because my DD loves Mad Hatter and he is a LOT of fun (but she is older-when she was younger she was afraid of him). Plus there's Alice, Mary Poppins, Pooh & Tigger and it's a good buffet with a lot of choices. Feel free to click on the links below to check out our reviews of Cape May & 1900 Pk Fare.
