Best option for day trip to Sea World

We are staying at POP and will not have a car. What is the best option for getting to Sea World for a day? 2 adults and dd8. Any info on prices, convenience, travel times etc. would be appreciated! If it makes a difference, out Sea World day is planned for a Monday.

We took the Lynx bus from the TTC when we headed to SW. It was incredibly easy. The only 'glitch' was our fault...we neglected to tell the driver we wanted to go to SW...so he let us off the bus waaay down the road. Took about 15 mins to walk back to SW.
But....the bus picks up, and drops off, at TTC (also at DTD but I'm not familier with that spot). I believe the route is #50. When you get on the bus, tell the driver you want to get off at SW. They take exact change, so have plenty of change with you...it was $1.50 pp, each way, but it may have gone up. When you get off the bus, you should be at the entrance to the parking lot...just cross it and you'll be at SW park entrance. When it's time to go back to Pop, cross the parking lot again, then cross the street (pretty easy to do, we had no issues at all) and go left down the sidewalk. You will see a blue Lynx bus stop sign. Wait there and the bus will pick you up.

Thanks for the info. Is Lynx the public T system for Orlando? Does that bus make many stops on the way? What was the travel time, if you remember?

Yep, it is the public transit for Orlando. I don't remember any stops before the SW one. It took a little under 30 mins to get there.
I was really surprised by how easy it was. The buses were clean and we felt 100% safe. We had my dd, then 9, with us. There were some CMs on the bus as well. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I wouldn't do it to US/IoA simply because there are transfers involved..and I have a huge fear of getting on a bus heading to an area that I shouldn't be in.

Sounds good. We brave the T here in Boston all the time so that should work for us. We'll probably taxi back to POP though since I would not be comfortable taking an unfamiliar bus route at night.

We're thinking of day at Sea World and then dinner at CityWalk. Can't give Disney all my $$ - got to spread it around.

Getting from SW to CityWalk... walk, bus, taxi????

with multiple legs of travel you describe, i'd seriously consider renting a car for a day. IMO taxis are pricey in orlando. The cost of cab up to Citiwalk from SW & back to POP will likely be in the in $60 - $70 range w/tip depending on traffic/route driver takes to Universal area. The possibility is there that you could sit on International Drive with the meter ticking away.

We considered that but I think I'd rather pay the extra money for the taxi than deal with the hassle of renting a car just for the one day. A one day rental plus gas and parking at SW and City Place would be pretty close to the cost of taking taxis or a Mears shuttle but I would also have to worry about directions, driving, parking, pick up, return etc.

If our plans change to include other outside WDW trips, we would likely rent a car.
