Hello everyone! Hopefully someone can help me. I've been to WDW a few times but never under the circumstances I'm in now. I'm a mother of 2 (5 and 6) who has been dating a father of 2 (4 and 5) for almost a year. We want to take a trip late this year (not around the holidays) with our children and are trying to figure out what options there are for people in our situation. We aren't planning on sleeping on the same bed - our children have spent a ton of time together but neither one of us is ready for that type of sleeping arrangement around them. So, we need a room or bedroom for me and my two children (I'd prefer they sleep seperately but have no problem w/them sharing a bed under the circumstances) and another room or bedroom for him and his two children. We would love to have a kitchen but it's not necessary and we don't care about views as we will be using the room to sleep and shower and not much else (unless we have a kitchen, then we'll spend a little more time there). I'm familiar with most of the resorts so please share your ideas for accomodations. Oh, and I always rent a car so transportation isn't an issue.Thank you!

We went with our four children in April (ages 3, 5, 6 and 8) and we stayed in connecting rooms at CSR. It was great for us. The kids shared one bedroom and we were in the other. The kids loved CSR and keeping asking everyday when we are going back. They absolutely loved the pool and the whole set up of the resort. But I think any kind of connecting rooms would work for you, you can always close the door in between the rooms, but you also have the option of opening it up.

You might also look at the Family Suites at All Star Music. There are threads on this board somewhere with pictures and floor plans!

Never stayed there but they do accomodate 6!

The Family Suites start at $184 a night duing value season.
Most of the Disney resorts (excluding DVC) charge extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
The Family Suites do not charge extra for extra adults.
1-6 adults can stay in the Family Suites for the same et price.
The Family Suites have discounts available also so if you keep your eyes open you just may snag a great deal.

Family Suite info:

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Info thread--Pullouts in Family Suites at ASMU with photos of how the pullout is supported.

Here is the layout of the Family Suites:

They:

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
-Studio amenities and separate sleeping areas giving more privacy than a standard room.
-Queen bed, full-size pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers
The pullout chair and large ottoman each pull out into standard size twin beds.
(4 separate sleepers)
-Private master bedroom and family room have 27” flat CRT TV and high speed Internet access.
-Kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator (4.3 cu. ft) and coffee pot
-Two-full bathrooms

How about a cabin at FW? I just read that they're now going to be considered a moderate.

If I read you right, then the two of you are dating and not ready to share a bedroom yet in front of the kids, right? So then try for adjoining or connecting rooms at a value resort. That way you can put all six of you on the same ressie, to aid in your chances of getting the adjoining/connecting rooms, and save some $$$. You will also get to be together, yet still stay in separate rooms with your respective children. ;)

Option B would be to get a cabin at FW, and one of you could have the bedroom (with the bed and bunkbeds) while the other one sleeps on the sofa (and lets the kids have the Murphy bed). The only drawback to this plan that I can see is that you would have only one bathroom. :scared1:

Good luck! :)

I'd go for two rooms at a value resort. ;) Or the family suite would be nice too.

The wilderness cabin does sleep 6 but it's 4 in the bedroom and 2 in the living room, so that won't work for your situation.

Have a great trip! :)

The Family or 2 rooms are the least expensive options.

Here are a few more resorts that sleep 6:

The cabins start at over $270 during value seson. They sleep 6 and have full kitchen but only 1 bath.

Csr has a junior suite that sleeps up to 6.
It starts at $340 during value season.
They have a small fridge and coffeepot but no microwave or kichette.

WL has a deluxe room thst sleeps 6 and starts at $505 during value season they only have 1 bathroom but the room does come with CL. They have a small fridge and coffeepot but no microwave or kichette.

Other options are more expensive.

Have you considered renting points from a dvc owner for a one or two bedroom villa. We did this last year when there were 7 of us. It worked out really well and with the kitchen we saved alot of money on breakfast and some dinners. Plus having the extra space made everyone more comfortable.

i also agree with getting 2 rooms at the vallues. that would work out good for all of you. thekids will love the place, and the food courts are really good. and they have a large variety of thing s to choose from .

I would look into a DVC rental! We are renting and going to OkW in August! We are staying in a 2br villa- has tons of space, and looks soooo nice and relaxing! Good Luck with whatever you decide.;)

Unfortunately, with a trip late in the year, you will probably be out of luck getting anything at a DVC resort from a member on points. That time of year gets booked up at 11 months out.

I'd go with two value rooms and see if you can get them connecting. Your family could be in one and his in the other.
