Best on site hotel for kids 4 and 5 and other questions?

I was thinking of staying on site for our late June trip for the Express Ride Access and close, easy access to the parks. For a family of four with younger kids (4 and 5) which on site hotel would be best?

We seem to like hotels that are clean and well maintained. Would the RPR be the best candidate for this? Have all the rooms been refurbished by now?

I have read a lot of reviews here that seem to indicate that HRH has the best staff, housekeeping, rooms, and maintenance. Have things really declined at RPR and PBH?

My first choice seemed to be RPR due to it supposedly being more laid back, quiet, and recently refreshed.

The pool at HRH might be fun for the kids, but if we stay at the other hotels we can always pool hop between these hotels. Is the pool and general atmosphere there going to be compatible with the kids?

There is a possibility that mid day naps will be needed for the little ones. As far as access time/distance/difficulty are concerned, is there a hotel that has an advantage?

TIA

We ended up booking the RPH for our June 22nd to 26th stay because it seems to be the most family friendly hotel. The pool has the boat for the kids and the kids area is a little more secured than the other pools. But we will be pool hopping to check out the slides and underwater music at the HRH.

We are going with our DD 6 and then I will be 6 months along when we get there so hanging out at the pool will be the most excitement I will be allowed to have it sounds like.

Others might disagree with me but I think RPR would be the best choice for you with kids that age and the RPR is such a great hotel and is very clean and well maintained and if you want to check out the other hotel pools they encouage pool hopping when you stay onsite but either way you decied to go you won't be dissapointed with staying onsite :thumbsup2

Thanks for the help everyone. I looked up the property on Google Earth, and it looks like the closest of the three to the parks, too. The pool seems geared to the young kids more as well.

Another question, that might need to be a separate post:

We originally were going to stay at the timeshare, so we have a rental car booked. Is it possible to stay on site for 5 days and not need a car? I would sure hate to spend the money on a rental car and pay to park it all week at the RPH and not use it at all.

If you are just planning on doing just Universal then there is no need for a car cause we are staying onsite and will not have a car cause both parks are close tgether and in walking distance from the hotel but it also limits you to eating at citywalk or onsite and I have found that to be ok also and not as expensive as others would say and if you want to do Seaworld they do offer a shuttle for free :thumbsup2
