best offsite hotel

What is the nicest and closest hotel to DL offsite? Can you easily walk? Clean? nice pool? I can't decide whether to stay with a onsite or offsite? Offsite is cheaper-is it worth it?

Haven't stayed on site, but we stayed off site at HOJOs in May and had a very clean room. We were upgraded to a home office suite that gave us more room which was nice. The walk got a little long in the evenings, but I'm not so sure it is that much farther than DLH or PP. I heard the BWPPI is nice and it is right at the crosswalk to the park.

The favorites from the message boards I frequent are...
Howard Johnson
The Best Western Park Place Inn
The Candy Cane Inn

I like all three.
HoJo has interior corridors and two nice pools but no free breakfast.
Park Place Inn and Candy Cane have ecterior corridos but decent free breakfasts.
Park Place has a small uninteresting pool but is the closest of the three to walk to the parks (about 5 minutes). Candy Cane Inn Has pretty grounds and pool and is, along with HoJo, about a 7 minute walk.
