Best offsite hotel

It depends. If you're 4, the Nick Hotel could be best. If you're 40, the Waldorf Astoria could fit the bill. What do you want from a hotel? Orlando has so many hotels, there should be a match for you.

I may be biased since this is the only hotel I have stayed in, but the Hampton Inn on Palm Parkway exceeded every expectation I possibly had. We stayed there last August.

It was spotlessly clean, non-smoking, the air condition worked, and the beds were comfortable. Rooms have 2 double beds, fridge, and microwave. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions, extra toiletries, and late checkout. The free breakfast buffet included sausages/bacon, eggs/omelette, whole and cut fruit, yogurts, cereals, waffles/french toast, oatmeal, pastries, juices, milks, tea, coffee, etc. It was fresh and constantly being restocked. They do have shuttles that (in August) ran 3 times daily to and 3 times daily from WDW. We didn't use them, since we drove. But, it was very convenient to drive straight to the parks without getting on the interstate.

It was an absolute steal at $55 per night; they now seem to be averaging at $85-$100 per night. If you aren't looking for dirt-cheap, I suggest this place.

We always stay at the Marriott Grande Vista. The rooms are spacious (get at least 1 bedroom) with full kitchens, washer/dryer, separate tub and shower, and full dining area. The grounds are beautiful with a fountain in the lake, two large, beautiful pools. They have a couple of restaurants on-site as well as a market place. We love it there and try to go at least once a year although we are not timeshare owners.

What sense of "best" do you mean? Most luxurious? Best value? Closest to the parks?
