Best off-site restaurants?

Hi everyone,
My DH and I are going on our very first WDW trip this Jan. 7-14. I'm doing some last minute small details this week. I was curious what some of your favorite off-site restaurants are in Orlando and/or Kissimmee? We have several reservations already at some nice places inside and outside the parks, but wanted to do a couple of cheaper dinners too.

Gotta be more specific than that ... There are TONS of restaurants in the greater orlando area ... can you narrow down to a few types of cuisine, or locations? Are you looking for fine dining or casual, buffet or not, etc?

There are definitely tons around the area!! I used to live in Orlando, but here are some of my favs: Unos, Bahama Breeze, Lonestar, Kobe, and much much more. All are located on 535 mainly.

Cheaper than what? Are you talking about something like Golden Corral?

The Dr.Phillips area has some really nice options. There is everything there from pizza to fine dining at Morton's.

The greater Orlando area has a wide variety of restaurants with regard to pricing and food types.

Being more specific is a good idea. You'll get better info that way.

We also would like to know what restaurants are close by ?
We have a rental car.
So, whatever area is the closest to WDW, what are some of the main
restaurants.
We are looking for Joe's crab shack, Macaroni Grille, Olive garden, those type of restaurants.
Also, how would we get there ?

Maggiano's Little Italy is a great chain that is very near WDW, located on I-Drive near the Convention Center. It is one of my favorites in Orlando, Chicago and Houston. Informal enough for families with kids, yet it can also be a dressed up affair. There are two really great deals. The cheapest is a buy one/get one for the road deal. For $12.99, you get a pasta dish to eat in, then another one to take back for later. If you are staying in a room with a microwave and fridge, this is a most excellent deal.

The second deal is a family style dinner for $24 per person. You get a choice of two appetizers, two salads, two entrees, two pastas and two desserts. This is for parties of four or more, and is all you can eat. Much better than a buffet at WDW, and a little cheaper. This place is affiliated with a delivery service, so you can get it at your room if you wish, just like room service.

For a quick and inexpensive meal, there is also Shake & Steak. The steakburgers are great. Fries are shoestring style, crunchy outside and soft inside. The shakes are the best. You can get a meal for $4. Much cheaper than WDW CS. This is carry out, or eat-in with an old fashioned diner style set-up.

The best Italian meal I have had near WDW is at Cafe d'Antonio in Celebration. I've been to Italy and grew up in a Sicilian family so I am pretty picky about my Italian food and thought theirs was very good.

There are so many restaurants in the area it is hard to give you any more and it is also very dependent on your taste and what you find important when eating. For a health conscious eater I would recommend Season 52.
