Anyone have suggestions for kid friendly off site restaurants for kids. I have a 5 & 2 year old. We are going end of November.

Have a go and try The Golden Corral chain

This is a Buffet type eatery & ice cream & candy floss

Eat as much as you want .... but try and EMPTY your plates before going for more.

Pretty much every chain restaurant in America is available around the theme parks and they are all family friendly.

My kids like Cici's pizza, the cheapest buffet around, and Sweet Tomatoes, another buffet that's more expensive.

Most Golden Corral's the staff does not keep the buffet clean. Kids are sticking their hands into the ice cream toppings, spilling food into other food trays. It's pretty gross. I can't eat there.

I would avoid any and all buffets unless it's inside a Disney resort for breakfast.

:rotfl: Probably one the dirtiest breakfast buffets we have been to was at Chef Mickeys. In comparison, our experiences at Golden Corral have been far cleaner along the buffet offerings, and there were far less kids running amok with their hands in the food. And it was $7 pp rather than $33 ;) .

I don't think any buffet (particularly in Orlando, where families travelling together are the norm) is exempt from the kinds of concerns you mentioned. Not even those in the Disney bubble.

OP....if you are looking for a fabulous breakfast buffet for kids, the Shrek Feast at Villa de Flora (located at Gaylord Palms) is awesome and so much fun. And afterward, you can tour their gorgeous atrium. They have tons of events happening at Christmas, too (like ICE!, which is well worth a visit) so that might be a good consideration for you.

Villa de Flora if fabulous. I forgot about that one when I posted. That is perhaps the only buffet I will actually suggest to DH myself. But then again, i LOVE Gaylord Palms. It is by far my kids favorite hotel to stay at in Orlando.

I don't eat at Disney Resort unless I just happen to be at that resort for a cheer competition, I just hoped they would be better than Golden Corral. I have learned the hard way that my stomach can't "stomach" most buffets. It's not worth the aftermath to eat at them. Villa de Flora is the exception of course as well as company catered buffets that I have to go to.

Giordano's has great Chicago style pizza and is very relaxed. There was a woman doing free balloon animals on our last visit (she does take tips). She made my son an amazing set of monkey ears and a tail.

Just to point out that a Buffet at Villa de Flora in Gaylord Palms

will cost about $ 30 per Adult

Not sure how much a child costs .

And as the OP has a 5 & 2 year old this could be a costly meal.

Not sure where you are staying, but our family loved Chuy's on Islo Bronson Pkwy (I think that is the street). They loved the quirky décor, the food (Mexican), and the server was great with the kids.

I'm going to add this to our plan. I love Mexican food. Thanks!

Come to think of it, right next to the Chuy's is a Joe's Crab Shack that has a cute outdoor play area for kids.. The kids and I don't eat seafood, so we didn't eat there. I hear their food is good and they have killer desserts! :)

Chuy's serves Tex-Mex dishes. Being from California, the food was prepared much differently from what we are accustomed to at home.

Joe's Crab Shack on the 192/Irlo Bronson isn't very good. We went the week it opened and it was amazingly good. Our last visit left us disappointed. Very slow service for a mostly empty dining room and the food wasn't as tasty as before.

Cracker Barrel and Bahama Breeze are also on the 192. There's a Menchie's frozen yogurt in the same shopping center as Bahama Breeze. There's also a Shula's Burgers nearby.

First timers to WDW, staying at Pop Century.. any IHOP's nearby?

There's some on 192/Irlo Bronson. It's easy to get to the 192 by heading towards Animal Kingdom Lodge and turning left onto Sherberth Road. Sherberth leads to the 192, turn left and IHOP is in that direction.

My kids really like Sweet Tomatoes. We've been to the one at Crossroads at Lake Buena Vista and the one on 192, and they are both good. If you sign up for their Club Veg email list, you get good coupons. They usually run a $24.99 deal for a family of 4. I always use that one. We ate their twice earlier this month. Golden Corral cost about $60 for my family and the food was pretty terrible. I left wishing we had just gone back to Sweet Tomatoes again!

Also, there is a great ice cream place on Apoka/Vineland road called Twistee Treat. We love it there, too!

Have a great trip! :thumbsup2

We liked this too. So much so that we're doing it again on our first night in Orlando on our upcoming trip!

How were the prices at Chuy's? We tried to go on our last trip, but it was always totally packed!

Some have mentioned Sweet tomatoes as a buffet, we have never been, but on the websites it doesnt seem like a buffet? Am I missing something? I didnt even see prices..
