Hey All,

My lady and I are are coming over to Orlando with the kids on August 31st. It's the kids' second visit, my lady's 4th and about visit 20 for me. We're staying on West US192 at the Bahama Bay Resort.

I'm very familiar with the area and it's restaurants; we always visit Charlies, Key W Kools, Bill Wongs, Bahama Breeze when we visit. Our last visit was in 2004. What I'm wondering is are there any new or established restaurants we shoud add to our list of must do's ? We're always looking for good new places to eat and like to try as many new ones as we can.

So, any suggestions ? We dont mind a reasonable drive to the place, and as I said, I know the US192/I Drive areas pretty well. Is there anywhere up towards US/IOA we should try ?

We'll be visiting US and IOA too - is there anywhere on the parks that is a must try ?

Thanks.

So when you say Charlie's you mean Charlie's steakhouse right? We went there on our honeymoon in 1998 and my husband STILL raves about that meal. Best steak ever.

Hi...after a really fun evening with great food at a reasonable price, I recommend Bergamo's in the Mercado Shopping Center...Every one of the wait staff is a professional singer and belt out some of the greatest songs from Broadway to opera during dinner...It was really something different and the food was great...

enjoy...Ted

I noticed there is a Carrabbas on the opposite side to Key W Kools. We tried the one in Clearwater and if it's anything like it it's yummy :)

We also like the Chevy's. Pretty close to Disney and a nice change of pace for a late lunch or early dinner. Carraba's is also a favorite.

Over at Universal, we like Emeril's and Margaritaville.

Oh..and..GO CARDS!!

TEXAS DE BRAZIL !!!! Across from Festival Bay on I-Drive! Love love love it!

Oh, and if you're staying on 192 and get a free night out without the kiddies---come down to the Rovers for Karoke! Can't miss it--the sign is a big British Flag! DF and I love this bar and we're there 2-3 nights a week (what can I say? we're lushes and love to sing!).

We love Cracker Barrel. It is located on Irlo Bronson outside of WDW. We don't have them up here in Canada. So everytime I get a chance to eat at one we do. Ate there for breakfast on the way back in March for the first time and loved it. Dinner is even better the cheese bisquits are to die for.:cheer2: :cheer2:

KOBE STEAKHOUSE near Downtown Disney

Oh it's the best!!!! Better than Japan Teppanyaki in Epcot, it's so good! You know the Japanese dinner where they cook on the open grill in front of you, great steak (Try the Kobe beef for a real treat), great veggies, noodles, rice, oh and their egg rolls - to die for!

Chevy's is good Tex Mex food too.
Rainforest Cafe is always fun.

Emirl's Chop Thcoup (sp) at Universal..

Both Emeril's Tchoup Chop at Universal's Royal Pacific Hotel and Emeril's Orlando at Universal City Walk are great restaurants.

Tchoup Chop is pan-Asian cuisine, offered in a beautiful, less formal setting. It is mid-priced.

Emeril's Orlando serves Emeril's signature New New Orleans cuisine.

Also at City Walk, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is a fun, casual place for lunch or dinner.

I second KOBE STEAKHOUSE. Go get the coupons from any hotel magazine. They have great early birds here too and the food is always AMAZING.

The Orlando Ale House is cheap and the servings are huge. We go there at least once a trip. It's also very kid friendly.

Well let me give ya a little FYI---if you're staying on 192 and want to go to Kobe--there's one right across the street from the entrance to Celebration.

Whenever we go down we always go to Don Pablos on International Drive. We love the mexican food.

We also like Pastamore at CityWalk.

Next time we are going to try Ming's on international drive

OOOOO---good point! Don Pablos is my fav tex mex place! Gotta get the El Matador!

We like Tchoup Tchoup much better than Emeril's at City Walk. Also at USF worth mentioning are The Kitchen and The Palm at Hard Rock. Great steaks at The Palm, great low key dining at The Kitchen.

Ooo...I'm sorry, just one more! You see---food is my passion, I'm a self taught chef plus I live here---so it just makes it worse!

If any of you like the food in Epcot in Morocco, you HAVE to try Cedars on Sandlake Road off I-Drive. It's the best Arabic food I've ever had. They have a set menu on Saturday nights as well where they bring out about 8 appetizers, then followed by the main course of white rice, steamed veggies, lamb, beef, and chicken! Belly dancer and music throughout!

I vote for KOBE too! I went there over 3 years ago and I still dream about it!!! Love the noodles that come with the grilled dinner!
