Best night to eat at Cape May buffet?

I'd love some feedback on what is the best night to eat at Cape May's seafood buffet during my trip. It will be our only non-park ADR during our trip, so I"m a little hesitant on where I should schedule it (especially because we don't have park hoppers).

We are on the DDP and are planning on one TS meal each day. Here's our plan so far:

Magic Kingdom: Crystal Palace
Magic Kingdom: ??? (This is where I was thinking Cape May)
Epcot: Beirgarten
Epcot: Marakesh
DHS: Mama Melrose F! package
AK: Tusker House Safari Breakfast
Extra day: revisit favorite park

I was thinking that our 2nd MK day would be the best place to schedule Cape May, because we were already doing Crystal Palace and wasn't terribly interested in their other TS options. However, I don't really know how hard it is to get to Cape May from MK. We are staying at POFQ, so we could do MK in morning/early afternoon, then go to Cape May from POFQ, then go to the park (if it would be open that late).

I'd appreciate any feedback at this point.

Thank you!

I got so excited about the crab legs and calamari, that I canceled our ADRs for the fantasmic package at H&V, so we could take the boat over from DHS to Beach Club and then return to watch Fantasmic! I'm really looking forward to Cape May, we are crab leg freaks! I read that Mon, Wed, Sat are fried shrimp nights, and Tues and Thursday are fried Calamari. Fri. is fried Cod. \

I think it would work out fine if you wanted to return to MK later in the evening and still dine here, if you get in around 5pm....

We are seafood freaks too! A couple of years ago, our vacation was to the Outer Banks, and one of the biggest highlights of our trip was that they had recently opened a Captain George's seafood buffet there. So good!!

If I went to MK, then back to POFQ, and then to Cape Mays....how exactly would I do that? I guess I mean which bus would I need to take from POFQ to Cape Mays? TIA!

You will not be able to take a bus from POFQ to Beach CLub. If you are going to a park that day take the bus back to the Beach Club. Then from beach club back to a park.

OP is right... you can't get to the beach club from Port Orleans. If you are planning to take a break before dinner I would suggest either taking a bus from PO to HS and then taking the boat to BC or just taking a cab. The boat ride from HS is rather nice though so if you can make the time it's not that bad.

As far as what day ... my family wouldn't want to give up an evening in MK. So I'd have to probably say 2 TS on the AK day. Do AK in the morning, break and then evening at Cape May and walk the board walk. Then MK day would be all cs... but you are getting more time there. IF MK isn't that big of a draw for your family than I think you are fine.

I know that Epcot is a short distance to walk to the Beach Club but do they have a boat that goes from Epcot to Beach Club?

TIA.

I know for sure Sat nights are fried shrimp nights... and they are SO GOOD! We went twice last year and it is one of our new favorites. The crab legs are good too... actually, everything is good. enjoy!:goodvibes

Yes. Just thru International Gateway there is a boat to YC/BC/BW and the Swolphin. :thumbsup2

In order to do this you would have to enter Epcot and walk from the front entrance to the International Gateway in WS to the BC. The OP does not have hoppers and is going to another park that day, so this won't work. There is a boat, but you can't get to it unless you enter the park and walk out the "back door">
If you took a bus from POFQ to DHS you don't have to enter the park to get the boat to the BC. There is also a nice path that you can walk between DHS and the BC. We usually walk.
After dinner you can take a bus directly from the BC back to the MK for the remainder of your evening.
Have Fun

Thanks so much for everyone's help with logistics. How to get everywhere is one of the things that confuses me a little bit. I"ve read up on the transportation system, but I think I"m the kind of person who just needs to be there to see how it works. I know it'll all work out, though, so it'll be fine.

Also, thank you to the person who said their family wouldn't want to miss an evening in MK. We are going for 7 nights and have 2.5 days planned for MK, so that was part of the reason I didn't feel too bad missing part of it---we have two other evenings there. I kind of like the idea of doing it on AK day, though...didn't really think about two TS meals that day, but it would work.

More to think about...:)

we are doing the same thing!!! On one of our MK days we will leave the park in the afternoon for a quick break back at POP, then take a Bus from POP to DHS from there the nice boat ride to Beach club, from there we could take the bus from Beach club back to MK if we want....there is not a bus from park to park only park to resorts. Hope this helps, its really not a bad option:goodvibes
