The past three years we have gotten to WDW on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We have gone to
MVMCP each year on that Tuesday. The crowds are low and the weather (knock on wood) has been perfect each time.
It wasn't until I started hanging out here so much that I learned that even though the party starts at 7PM, you could enter the park 4 or 4:30 with a MVMCP ticket. Up until last year, we thought they cleared the park totally out and then you had to re-enter. So this past year we got there at 4-4:30 and got our wristband and went to it. When the park closes at 6PM, the people staying for the party are somewhat sent over to Tomorrowland. Which is cool as we were able to take in two special events before the party officially started.
Hint, don't get in line right away to have your picture taken. The lines get shorter as the night goes on. Also make sure you sample the hot chocolate. Not sure what it is, but it sure tastes better than my hot chocolate. Maybe it is the Pixie Dust.
There are numerous postings on the boards about this party and MNSHP.
It seems like you either love it or hate it. We have only gone to the Christmas Party and we think it is well worth the money. With all the special things going on, it is hard to take in everything. DH and myself ride very few rides during the party. We do Buzz and Country Bear Jamboree as that is changed for the holiday season. But there are carolers stationed in various places around the park, the parade, Wishes, different plays, some high school musical groups. Oh, I almost forgot the snow on Main Street USA.
You will read that some people actaully buy two nights worth of tickets. We don't do that, one is plently. It is just that you have to decide what you are going to take in as there will not be time for everything. Our thinking is we can do the rides during the day, so lets to the special stuff at the party.
