OK, I really need to book now and am wondering what the best months to go in are. I am not restricted by school holidays or anything. My most important points to consider would be the weather and secondary would be the crowd levels. I read before people recommending Oct -but then others said it is becoming a busy time. Other people said Nov- but is this not hurricaine season? What about April and May? What do you all think?

Hi Nicola,
Ive always gone in November and its a great time to go, the weather is perfect, still really really warm but not so hot you feel you cant walk around too much and it doesnt rain as much as in the summer. The parks are very quiet, there are hardly any queues and it feels nice and relaxed. It does get busy over Thanksgiving weekend but its not that bad and the good thing is that extra entertainment is usually put on for it and there is also a real buzz in the parks then.

Hope this helps

Jen

Thanks Jen, That does really help. Do you know when Thanksgiving in US is?

Its the last Thursday of November.

I would say October - for the weather and also MNSSHP and the Food & Wine festival at Epcot.

I have never been in October myself but would really like to.

Have done August & September & December before and personally I would not do December again. The weather was really awful (I think we were unlucky to be honest as a lot of people love December) and I think we only had 2/3 days out of a 23 night holiday where we did not have to wear a jumper during the day.

Like I say, lots of people love December, but having had a bad experience myself I would not do it again. It was lovely to see all the Christmas decorations, the Osborne Lights and the Candlelight Processional though - and the parks were literally deserted until about 19th / 20th of December. So there are lots of good things about December!

we like end may to start of june as its starting to hot up but humidity not yet cut in also not as bussy but picks up after memorial day when there summer officaly starts

We've only been once, in September. Going in September again this year. Yes, it is hurricane season but the parks are empty, the weather is good (as long as you're not stuck in the middle of a hurricane!) and kids are back at school.

I think a lot of it is personal preference. I think, if I'd gone in July or August, when it's really crowded, I probably wouldn't love it as much as I did.

I would say mid October through early November for nice weather (not too hot) and relatively quiet too.

Would have advised late February through early March too but this year the weather was on the cool side to say the least.
Be wary that the climate is being more unpredictable but if you can avoid the summer months between June and September.
We are going next month as really we have to go during the school holidays.

Another vote for November. If you are willing to take more of a chance on the weather (should still be sunny and warm, but sometimes a cold snap can drop temperature to 60's for a couple of days), the end of November beginning of December is a really nice time to go because all of the Christmas decorations are out in the parks, and it is really very special. Thanksgiving week is usually busy though, so you could just go after this.

Otherwise, I would say for low crowds + better chance of nice weather, early November is a good call. It is still officially hurricane season, but it is the very tail end, and the weather is usually very settled by this time (touch wood!).

Happy planning!

Thanks to everyone. I really appreciate your input and you've given me plenty of info to go on :sunny:

I would say October over November as the days are a little bit longer and the temperature a little bit warmer but make sure you avoid the UK half term as it pushes the prices up.

Always visited the week after the kids are back at school in September. It's very quiet in the parks on weekdays and still very, very warm, also we've always avoided any bad weather.

I'd have to say the beginning of December. Xmas decorations are up and the parks are empty.

Having said that, ANY month is a good time to go to WDW!!! ;)

We went !0th june this year for 3 weeks and the weather was fab but the humidity was over powering. Were going in October next year and have heard great things about the weather. Its still really warm but less humidity :sunny:

Our favourite time to go is October, closely followed by the beginning of December.

We went around 27 October 3 years ago and it was perfect weather and low crowds but as someone else said I would avoid school hols.November is good but a lot of the New Jersey schools are off from around 5th Nov which makes the parks busier and then you have Thanksgiving 4th Thursday in November. I have also been 3 times the first week in December and that has been great as all the Christmas decorations are up and the parks are quiet.

I went in early May many years ago and the weather was really nice and warm then so we are going to try that time again next year, I don't remember the parks being too busy then either. (also coincides with my birthday)
